Take all of the guns. All of them. - Page 2

Hold on is this dumb threads?

Mind your manners, mate. I was just giving my view on what it's like here in Australia and you tell me to fuck off. No wonder why I don't trust people with guns.

Since Australia got rid of the guns after the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996, there hasn't been a single mass shooting, that's 19 years ago now. Can't argue with those sort of stats.

If you're willing to be civil, then I'd be interested in finding out more about these fascist pigs you speak of.

And no, the "struggles with gun control" are due to fascist pigs trying to impose their will and power on free citizens. So fuck off and go ban some more small breasts you kangaroo fuck.

Texas is one of the few states that tracks crimes by CCW permit holders. Only 158 in 2013 were convicted of any crime (many of which were probably unrelated to the firearm):

Europoors are scared of guns because we won like 7 wars against them using said guns. They have fuck-all to say about how we handle our shit.

No, I'm not interested in discussing this with you. You come from a shit country that bans small breasts. Your opinion on whether or not we in the first world should be allowed to carry firearms is completely fucking irrelevant. I don't tell you if you should be allowed to rape and pillage Abos so don't tell me whether I can carry a firearm.

Dipshit communist pig.

You seem pretty upset despite me not attacking you personally in anyway and just stating facts.

I just by coincidence came across this article in the Aus media about this event - http://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/the-scary-facts-about-gun-control-in-america/story-fnh81jut-1227500840270 The stats on mass shootings are even higher than I'd expected, I was thinking like 100 maybe and there is almost 1 per day. That's scary man and if you think it's not then I don't know what to say to you.

I'm part "Abo" by the way.... so thanks for the generalisation and no, no one uses the term Abo anymore it's offensive.

I'm gonna bow out of this thread now, I've proved my own theory that trying to discuss gun control with gun nuts is a futile exersize.

I question the data from every one of those graphs. Also, you're comparing us to third world Central/South American shitholes.

If I'm not mistaken, it depends on your definition of mass shootings. Most of these that have crazy high numbers are because they define mass shooting as anytime two or more people are wounded in a single event with a firearm. So in some of these cases, it is a murder suicide.

Question away. Feel free to submit your own sources.

Agree that beating Central and South American countries is not a bar we should set but disagree on challenging the data just because you don't like it.

Harv, don't make me take a newspaper to your nose. Be nice to our Aussie friend.

I'm not arguing that we're great either, and I certainly wish we had fewer homicides; however, I don't think it is the tool of the homicide that is the problem.

The problem is people are talking about gun control as if it will solve anything. We have about 10 firearm homicides per 100,000 people, that's 0.0001%. Even if we assume the number of homicides is a 1:1 ratio with the number of murderers (which we know it isn't), we're talking about reducing the rights of 99.9999% of people which seems like an awfully broad brush stroke.

Has anyone prepared a chart on the level of political rhetoric and racial obsession with the number of race-based hate crimes?

I know #blacklivesmatter, MSNBC, "punish your enemies," and "no justice no peace" are relatively new in our history, but it seems like one could measure hate crimes with Black Panthers and KKK violence in decades past.

My bad. I thought you started this thread as a result of the hate crime murders yesterday morning in Virginia.
