It's unfortunate that you get to decide anything. You're just as dense as you look. Per capita doesn't mean a goddamn thing. Who the fuck cares about per capita? They exist, we can stop them, we don't. That's all there is to it and its because of dumb fucks like you.

So do many deaths but you do not see cars being banned to stop deaths from car accidents, tabacco products are not banned to stop meaningless death, booze is still legal and it causes alot of deaths nor at this point in todays society is fried foods nor any sugary sodas etc banned and they probably cause more death than guns.
Your priniciple that it hurts people and society without giving anything to it(this part is inferred please correct me, thusly should be banned is not properly applied at all.nor do I think you want it to be, you just have a hard on for gun control...

When we banned booze, long before international travel was a common thing, was there mass availability of booze in the US or not?

Since the ops premise presents a " what if " scenario I'll keep things in that frame. It would be interesting to start a list of " ways in which mankind is better off be.cause of firearm . That way way we could get a better perspective on why guns are so important to us Even nuclear power is arguably of service .

Did you read the article? $500. That's cheaper than many AR15s today. Prohibition raised the price on liquor too, but it didn't stop people from drinking.

Thousands of people reload and the equipment is not that expensive.

You can get a nice 10 rd pistol in Cananada. Have to take a two day course for your license and get a lockbox+triggerlock with every purch for the kiddies/burglars. Rifles are restricted to 5shot.

Instructive or not as the above may be for the pro control folks, I'd nonetheless hazard the ridiculous drug war is the central problem behind a lot of the illegal gun homicides, not the second amendment, what a "militia" meant blah blah etc
