Massdrop x Styleforum x Panta Madder Tie GMTO (official collaboration)

I remembered reading a blog post about Panta on Put This On a few years back, so I dug it up and found these pics which appear to possibly include two of the highest voted options from the poll (B10 and B14):





They look pretty great, it will definitely be tough to choose from the four options (for those of us not planning on buying them all that is!).

That top picture contains the three I'll get.

Seems like there is quite a similarity in the color palette of the first three. Any chance of throwing in something different as a 5th possibility, like a blue? B6 would be my suggestion, if at all possible.

I echo this suggestion. There is a paucity of mid to blue ties in my wardrobe - the tie Brillopad is sporting in the pic above would be welcome to me. But the masses prevail.

If all else fails, that very tie (which happens to be the other one I have) is currently available at normal price on the site.

But, but milord, it is a 'mere 8cm'.

I would normally go for the 9cm myself, and these are indeed my narrowest ties. But even as a 44R with a big fat head, I wear them with delight.

I'll throw my support behind a blue option as well, if that's still in the cards

Quick update for everyone:

The Italian factories are still sort of waking up from their August break, so we haven't gotten 100% confirmation that all of the choices we are going with are available. I don't see there being an issue, but we want to be certain before we start collecting orders. I expect that we will be able to launch within the next 1-3 days, but I wanted to let you know that there's a small delay. Good things come to those who wait!

As for adding additional colors, I like the idea of it, but with every added option comes additional complexity that can increase pricing and lead time. Since we are already doing two widths and two lengths (which are not standard options), having 4 swatches already gives us 16 different variants to work with. But I agree that the selection looks great and I think they'll be a solid choice for the upcoming fall.

I need convincing that the larger B patterns don't look naff. Please provide photo evidence

I assume that the point of the poll wasn't to determine what people think looks good: it was to determine what people would buy.

What people want to buy isn't just a function of what they think looks good, it's also a function of what they already own. My top choice, which didn't make the cut as it happens, was the one that was most different from what I already have and which would be most useful with my own collection of jackets and suits.

I don't think I voted for any of the blue swatches, not because they don't look good but because I already have so many. Given the the low vote-counts for the blue swatches I'd wager I'm not alone in that.
