Jeez, a 60 mph fastball right down the middle. I'll let someone else hit it out of the park

Will be interesting to see him in Pride and prejudice or The Tempest...

Well I tried to explain to her that the "taps" could be put on by any cobbler and the 700-800 dollar premium for the tag seemed pretty marsupialed. She was not buying it....

The highlighted language explains the substance of the conversation. Do you really expect her to say "we charge more for rebranded shoes so that you can show your support for Thom (and us)?"

thats quite a statement. I have never seen a trickers here in the States. But I have a handgrade. Can you elaborate on this statement. what is the basis of your opinion. Not trying to pick a fight...just wanting to see if trickers are a great value even shipped here to the usa and with the mighty us dollar charging ahead

I'm referring purely to:

stitching
cutting
leather uniformity
symmetry (left shoe vs right, as well as L vs R of the same shoe)

The only real life handgrade experience I have is owning RL Bentons which everyone agrees are handgrade 337 belgraves. They are slightly off in terms of symmetry, and also the lacing is just slightly crooked on one shoe. My tricker's are made absolutely perfectly. In terms of shoes I have personally handled, I have seen this level of quality control only on JLPs and Edward Greens.

But it doesn't help you if the Tricker's aesthetic doesnt appeal to you. They are more country style...

If it was on the 3rd floor, if she was wearing Thom Browne and she was a tall blonde then that was the love of my life Ceila who is the Thom Browne specialist.

You have to take her statements into context. She is selling Thom Browne on the 3rd floor next to Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Etro, McQueen, Gucci, Mizrahi, Paul Smith, etc. Of course her brand is the "best OTR quality" because she doesn't care about (because her customer's don't really care about) Oxxford, Isaia, Brioni, Kiton and all the favorite obscure tailors you guys favor here...if they did they would be shopping on the 2nd floor (which in fact does have some Thom Browne "Sartorial" now that goes up to a size 5 and can come in a R or L).

And also, she didn't know who made the shoes until I told her it was Tricker's and coaxed one of Thom's former employees into admiting it while we were having drinks at the Michael Bastian event.
