Hi Guys,

Wanted to make a thread for us to talk over a GMTO that one of you suggested.

In addition to burgundy, I would also be fine with vegano burdeaux (see here: http://www.carminashoemaker.com/mens-oxford-shoes/lace-up-burgundy-80251) For design @canadianhockey3 and I were thinking a normal cap-toe or quarter brogue, and I have a preference for a normal cap-toe between those two options.

@Pbayvip @canadianhockey3 @BingoLiddle @ThunderMarch @oxfordsandties
I think accounts for everyone from the larger thread and now we have 6 if everyone is still in.

Here are the details:

Carmina
Model: 80386 (see here: http://www.skoaktiebolaget.se/collections/carmina/products/carmina-work-wear) or model 10051 without medallion (see here: http://www.skoaktiebolaget.se/collections/carmina/products/carmina-semi-brogue-black)
Last: Rain last (generous fitting last)
Burgundy/Vegano Burdeaux [sic] Calf
Tomir sole

For color, does anyone have a preference among burgundy, vegano burdeaux (color here: http://www.carminashoemaker.com/mens-oxford-shoes/lace-up-burgundy-80251
Btw got rid of references to museum burgundy because I am in minority as to museum and other threads had complaints about museum burgundy specifically, saying the finish was too blotchy as opposed to mottled--Hope to hear everyone's input and get this rolling--does anyone know if we definitely need 6 people or if 5 dodges the surcharge as well?

I would be in for the 80386 model (linked above) in burgundy (but not museum calf) with all the specs you listed - Tomir sole, Rain last.

Here's what we'd be looking at for the makeup. Note that the lighting in the bottom picture is a bit more pronounced:

Let me know what you think.

This looks good to me--any thoughts on the vegano bureaux color? (Also if I am the only one looking at burgundy variants I will abandon those and go along with burgundy--in store the burgundy Carminas I saw were very red almost a ruby so I wanted to avoid that if possible.)

Unfortunately, I would be out if you're looking for a different color. I'm looking to add a burgundy shoe only to my shoe collection at the present time..

No problem, I am still in for burgundy, and model 80386 if that's what you had a photo of looks good. I wouldn't hold out for vegano Bordeaux unless we had the 4 other ppl who also wanted the darker burgundy

Can you tag the 6th person oxfordsandties (sp?) I can't do it on my phone, thanks

Hey guys,

Thanks for creating this thread. I believe for Skoa we would need 6. I like the burgundy color but would prefer a darker version vs a natural red burgundy.

Hey, the above pictures are the standard burgundy color- it is just the lighting that makes the shoe look so red. Here is another picture showing the truer burgundy color as it would be, but on a different model:

Canadianhockey3, if the shade you gave would be what came out, I would be on board. My concern is that having seen the burgundy color in person at the armoury in NYC and a few other retailers, there are times when that color ends up being lighter in color and closer to a ruby red. The salesperson said he even recommended people using a darker polish to make the carmina burgundys less bright red when that happens and the burgundy ends up being too light in color. To make this more concrete, the shoes ended up like the right box and not the left box: http://colors.findthedata.com/compare/705-743/Burgundy-vs-Ruby-Red

Are there any other darker burgundy options I missed? My preference would be 1. vegano Bordeaux (or however they spell it) then 2. burgundy, because of concern above.

Interesting. Do we have a picture of what Vegano Burdeaux looks like on a real makeup? My concern lies with not knowing precisely what kind of color it is - from the website, it looks like a mix between a burgundy and purple.

Looks good. And I hope so, too. Looking forward to hearing what Betty has to say/show regarding Burdeaux.

If you/anyone else knows anyone who got one of these, maybe PM them? I havent posted here much, so idk any handles. http://www.styleforum.net/t/350967/carmina-905-vegano-burgundy-calf-rain-last-mto/30 was the last time the color I found on their website was ordered, and so I already PMed greverif for his thoughts on color or ideally photos.

Fingers crossed, because I want neither purple nor wizard of oz color, but maybe the 3 other people will have input, as Im new to all this stuff.

also before I forget, http://www.styleforum.net/t/251817/vegano-leather suggests that vegano is a different type of leather than calf? I am not sure if that kills my burgundy alternative, but I will email betty in my reply when she gets back about the burgundy color variants.

Also @oxfordsandties is it possible you could handle the actual ordering? I have no idea how to do that, I just know that somehow people get a link on Carminas site for their GMTOs but I am not sure if that is through Skoak or their own initiative.
