ENZO BONAFÉ MTO and GMTO Central - Page 18

Update on this GMTO with Solegarb for a Mahogany Shell and Glen Harris Tweed button boot, as we have room for a few more in the GMTO.  IMO this is going to be really stellar.  Here's the final plan for the boot:

  • 804 last

  • The upper would be the pattern from the new Enzo Balway, while the shaft would be the button boot. Lorenzo will be working with Enzo Bonafé on this new pattern, and will be covering the new pattern fee for us (~$200). He will make sure it's perfect.

  • Makeup will be Mahogany shell and glen tweed. Mahogany shell for the upper, glen tweed for the shaft.

  • no cap toe

  • donna medallion

  • 270 degree handwelt

  • no pull tab

  • midbrown welt/edging
  • The sole is the major update from last time. Talking to Lorenzo, Enzo doesn't have a sole like Carmina's tomir leather sole. They can apply topys but these are thing and just glued on. However, even better they do an island style sole, see here for an unfinished one. Basically the leather sole is cut out to have the rubber in the center. This makes the boot look like a leather sole from all angles except the bottom. I would like to use this sole, as it will allow us to have the channeled donkey back sole with all those nice Enzo detailed. This can look quite nice, see these Rozsnyai's.

The timeline will be around 5-7 months, in part due to the new pattern. The full is going to run $1185, with the usual 50% up front and 50% on delivery. Per Lorenzo the cost breakdown is $735 for a button boot, $400 for the horween shell, and $50 for the harris tweed -- all pretty standard. He's paying the new pattern fee himself.  If you're interested please PM me your email so I can forward it on to Lorenzo.  Right now we have room for 2-3 more in the GMTO.

Just an update here -- we've gotten the required 5, but there's still room for 2-3 more.  Lorenzo will be leaving the GMTO open for a couple more weeks if you'd like to join.  Just let me know!

Just received my confirmation invoice yesterday for these three pairs. Please pardon the hasty screenshots.

Wow - gorgeous - love the button boots in particular.

Thanks @RogerP! They should be a nice accompaniment to the black peccary shafted ones from our prior GMTO. By the way, your blue balmoral boots are inspirational.

There's been some discussion of a Enzo Chelsea on the 804 last recently, would anyone be interested in the following makeup?

Enzo Chelsea Boot

#5 Hidro Brass Suede

#4 Natural Calf Lining

804 Last

Bombé rounded waist (AFAIK this is the handwelted waist, not the japanese blake stitched one)

270 degree handwelt

millerighe sole

Anyone interested in a run of this make-up from skoak but on the 74945 instead of the 946?

I'd also consider the joining in on the suede 804 idea being thrown around if it was a darker shade of brown (tabacco/jasper/moka).

X-post from skoak thread.

any interest to do an Enzo Bonafe derby chain-welted GMTO?

Derby shoes (model 3635), I believe colour/material in the first picture is Betis Castagna.

If colour is too boring and people want to change up, I am interested to try lama sahara (on the right):

I am not a big fan of 946 last (as per the 1st picture), am thinking of going for 74945 last instead.

I would like norvegese chain-welted, natural rope laces with leather ends, millerighe (see picture below) or double leather sole.

A red or green lining should be interesting.

Any interest?

This style has been done to death, but anybody interested in this makeup?

Details:
Model - 3824MOD
Last - 363MOD
Sole - Dainite
Eyelets - 5/4 (Exposed/Speedhooks)

Open to leather/colors - as long as it's not color 4 shell.

Also, Skoak is doing a GMTO as well: http://us.skoaktiebolaget.se/products/pre-order-deposit-enzo-bonafe-tarnsjo-jumper-boots
Not a huge fan of the smooth captoe and grainy leather elsewhere, but figured I'd throw it out there in case others were.

Can I get a check on this being the first time anyone's said this on StyleForum?

Hey, I responded on the Skoak thread as well. Is likely I could get down with these.
