Everyone's who's asked to be added to the PM mailing list has been added. Thanks for your ongoing interest; I hope I can get something for you soon.

Regarding these items, I think it's time for some price cuts!

1) 38R NWT RL Polo navy suit, was $550 NOW $450
2) 38R NWT RL Black Label anthracite-grey glen plaid jacket, was $299 NOW $250
3) 42R NWT RL Black Label black suit, was $699 NOW $599
4) 44R NWT RL Black Label black velvet jacket, was $399 NOW $350
5) size 38 NWOT RL Black Label anthracite-grey glen plaid trousers was $99, NOW $75

I wasn't really expecting the black suit to sell on SF, but I thought the velvet jacket and the trousers would have been snapped up by now at these prices. Ah well, live & learn!

Please also check out my other EBAY ITEMS - auctions end on Sunday, no bidders yet so bargains a-plenty!

Throw a 44R or S navy Black label (pinstripes or solid, doesn't matter to me) on your look for list too, Holdfast =).

I knew exactly what you meant; I just felt like being a wise ass that day. I don't think there is a convenient clothing term for the half-circumference measure. The leg bottom opening is flattened and measured, and that measure is doubled, simply as a convenient way to determine how big the opening is at the bottom of the trouser leg. Trouser knees, thighs and waists are typically measured in the same way. You could run a tape measure all the way around any of those parts, but it's easier just to lay the trousers flat and measure the relevant aspect with a tape or stick and double to determine the desired measurement. I suspect that's exactly what you do to determine the inside waist measurement that you provide in your descriptions.

If one can't, for some reason like internet shopping, try on a pair of trousers, the leg bottom opening and all the other measurements are needed pieces of information to visualize how the trousers will look when hemmed/cuffed and worn. For example, I know that a leg bottom opening of about 19 inches is what I like on suit and dressier odd trousers, as that size opening will balance well with the size 9 ½ oxfords, derbies, and dress sip ons I wear with such attire. I also know that for sportier trousers, to be worn with the light weight, thin soled slip ons I favor in those circumstances, a narrower leg bottom opening, say around 17 ½ inches, coupled with a shorter overall length looks better to my eye. For wear with heavier shoes and boots, I like leg bottom openings in 20+ inch range. It's all just proportion.

Clearly tailoring terminilogy did not anticipate the internet!

Very much so, exactly.

I don't routinely list knee, thigh and rise measurements, because frankly measuring up is a bit boring and few people seem to use them actively in their decision-making. But people have asked for these occasionally (often if they have particular issues in these areas such as muscular thighs) and I'm always happy to provide them on that case by case basis.

Is there a standard "height" to measure thigh and knee at? I would think thigh is at the level of the bottom of the crotch and knee would be about 12" down from the crotch. When providing the info up to now, I just tell the prospective buyer what height I measured at, but if there's an industry-standard I'd love to know it please.

Yep, I want my buyers to be happy with what they get and the measurements hopefully reduce the chances of a shopper being disappointed.

PS. to all who've contacted me re: "the list" - you've all been added. It's getting to seriously long now - given I can only PM 5 at a time, I think I've given myself quite the challenge keeping you all informed of new stock arrivals! But no pain, no gain - all the interest is very welcome indeed and I hope I can find something for you all soon.

I have 11 usernames with numbers in their name, 4 usernames that are unpronounceable and two different James Bonds!
