Edward green question - Page 2

Went to the Edward Green shop in London today and enquired about the "Herrick". The shop was instructed, maybe 18 month ago, not to take any more orders for this style, apparently the factory had terrible problems with that particular design. (I don't think the shop had too many "Herrick" enquiries and was forced to turn people away, left, right and centre.) I wonder whether I should pursue it and bombard the factory with e-mails or if I just should leave it like that.

My Newmarket has a simple cap toe without any decoration at all. They are very nice. Bengal-stripe: if you want a Herrick contact hillary@edwardgreen.com. Problems making the boot... they are one of the foremost bootmakers in the world...give me a break. Tell them to Just Do It. If you take the stand...be prepared to pay the price;which ought be reasonable.

I wonder what the problems were. I mean, the boot does have laces and straps, but I can't believe that it would be too difficult for an operation like Edward Green. Of course, the fact that they don't want to make them makes me want them even more.

Oh yes, I know the feeling: it's a bit like my love life. If people don't want me, I want them the more; but if they are keen on me, I run a mile.
