W. Bill Green Linen Custom Run - Page 13

I think mine arrived today though I'm away and can't receive it now. We'll see in a few days.

I'd say it is an even more brighter hue of 'not-so-racing-greeen'. I also committed to a suit length and additional trousers, i guess i won't get much use of the odd trousers, so i will set it aside to have it made a couple years from now when i have worn through the original trouser pair.

So, no qualms from me. I am just relieved to have finally got it.

Finally got home to find my length of the cloth has arrived.

It is much more forest green than the sample pic on page 1.

I think i'll still have it made up...but the pursuit continues to find that nice mossy-fawnish green suiting for summer time.

Well I'm glad to see people have had them delivered, though now I'm starting to get worried as nothing has shown up for me. Hopefully soon.

Hi guys, sorry for the radio silence. I was in hospital for the past couple weeks due to my previous leg injury, so the monitoring of shipping has been less on the ball than I'd like. Apologies for that.

I'll check asap on the status of the lengths which haven't reached, and contact you all individually asap. Thanks for your patience as always.

For the record I haven't received mine yet either, so can't see the exact shade of green produced. If it did come out a little lighter than expected, then apologies. WBill's linen sometimes has this issue, slightly more so than other fabrics. Ray mentioned previously that this was due to the dyeing. Sometimes the cream lengths I get vary by as much as two shades darker/lighter, and can look like another fabric bunch on the samples book.

If you find it too bright for a suit, perhaps you could do an odd vest instead of pants, and wear the jacket as a sportcoat.

Thanks for that, as Concordia mentioned the Rangoon is 8-9 ozs. It's well-known for being an excellent tropical worsted, the best formal/CBD suiting cloth for warm weather around (along with the Lesser SFT which is also made by Minnis, though the older batches were better). The drape is superb given the light weight of the cloth.

So I discussed the possible patterns with Minnis, and the glenplaids are not possible. However the windowpanes and solids are no problem. Pics attached below...

I'm thinking of the charcoal with sky blue windowpane (middle cloth, first pic), charcoal solid (last cloth, second pic), and the navy with mid-blue windowpane (second cloth, last pic). What say you all?

The advantage with Rangoon is that these are cloths that have already been produced in the past, so the risk with nailing the correct shade is significantly lessened.

Both cloths in the last pic look excellent to me!

Both of the windowpane looks good to me.

All three excellent choices. Although doesn't Lesser SFT have more or less the same?
