Thyroid diet

I believe I have an hyper or hypoactive thyroid. Whichever one makes you have panic attacks and constant nausea preventing you from eating much. Anyone have experience with this, and what type of foods and supplements can help correct it? I'd rather not go to a doctor because all they want to do is prescribe bullshit.

Aside from a doctor prescribing you bullshit to make you better, have you visited a medical facility to test your T3, T4, and TSH levels?

Your symptoms are more consistent with hyperthyroidism than hypothyroidism, however I wouldn't assume it is either one. You may just suffer from panic attacks and your other symptoms also being manifestations of that. The only way to rule in/out a thyroid condition would be with lab tests as previously mentioned; getting a T3, T4, free T3 and TSH is pretty non-invasive; it only requires a little blood. If you are able to rule that out, you can start looking for other potential causes to your symptoms. If you indeed do have hyperthyroidism, dietary management is not a possible effective treatment option. The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is Grave's disease. It is an autoimmune disorder and is usually treated with radioactive iodine. Other treatment options include medication (long-term; probably for life) or surgery. One of the symptoms of Grave's disease is exophthalmos ("Marty Feldman eyes"); I suggest you get your thyroid checked because it isn't pretty.
