Selecting a scent can be difficult for me. After smelling one or two my nose is 'shot'.

A while back I stayed in a hotel that offered bath products in an Acqua di Parma scent that I really liked. I should have written down the name but I didn't and I've had no luck finding it.

Just this past week I was in a hotel that supplied the bath with Roget & Gallet's Jean Marie Farina products. The scent was similar to -- but stronger than -- the Acqua di Parma scent I liked. I'm hoping that perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

If this post is in the wrong thread, please don't hesitate to relocate it.

Try Roger & Gallet - Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille, I think it's the one you describe. Very nice scent.

Thank you for your answer.

My hope is to find the Acqua di Parma fragrance that is similar to the Roger & Gallet fragrance I referenced.

But if I don't ... the R&G may be a substitute.

I think the easiest way is to make a call to the hotel you were staying and ask them for the name. Not much help I know but that's what I would do.

Was the bottle blue or yellow? My first guess would be one of the AdP Blue Mediterranean fragrances, because they're marketed as unisex; they come in a blue bottle funnily enough. My next guess would narrow it down the Bergamotto di Calabria offering from that line - Rosemary, bergamot, lemon and Vetiver feature prominently in both that and the R&G scent.

If it was a yellow bottle, try Colonia which is their masculine offering. I just think a hotel would be more inclined to stick a unisex in their toiletry pack.

Ps: take a strong espresso with you when you go smelling fragrances. When your nose gets shot, take the lid off and stick your nose in for a few seconds.

Thank you, fellows, for the tips. I'll look further.

I did call the hotel ... new management ... new bath products. Dang!

I'll start with the blue bottles ... although I'm remembering yellow. Also turns our that AdP offers a hotel line ... all in yellow of course. Maybe I should bite the bullet and try smelling the whole lot.
