After taking a year off from EG I managed to get 4 blazers this season icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif. Not sure how that happened. After picking up the olive moleskin bedford, navy uniform serge bedford, and the brown/green herringbone bedford I contacted Nepenthes the other day and they just so happened to have the grey wool tweed beford on sale in my size. I couldn't pass shog[1].gif. Gary please start the SS thread before I spend too much on sale items. I need to save for SS biggrin.gif.

Has anybody seen the brushed flannel banded long shirt in an XL? Or any XL long shirts for that matter?

Do the mainline EG 19th century shirts have the same high gussets on the hem as the Workaday 19th century shirts?

I don't have any workaday 19th century bd, but I recently got a FW 15 mainline shirt and the gusset was high (same as a workshirt I got).

I have found this season's 19thC B/D shirts and work shirts to run large. Last year, I took a L in both, but when I tried on this season's, I was closer to a M (but a little snug).

Does anyone share this view or did I just try on rogue shirts?

I had the same experience that they run a little larger this season.

Only I sized down from a S to an XS.

Small is just a little too long for me. XS is a little snug on the shoulders but  preferred over the extra length of the Small.

@whereeaglesdare I'm 5'9 1/2 and 145 Ibs, will the smalls be too big? I'm a small in EG outerwear.

@ericleavitt

Well I'm 169cm and about 62kg. So you are a little taller than me. The main issue i have with the small is the length. As i have a fairly short torso.

Im wearing Small in outerwear just XS in the 19th and work shirt.

I think you'd probably be okay with the small.

Based on comments here, I sized down from M to S on a couple of the FW shirts and it was a mistake.  Besides the shoulders, the gussets are way too high (my love handles get exposed if I lift my arms slightly) on the S and I'm only 5'8".

I bought 2 19th bd shirts this season (grey plaid and grey stripe) and found them to be normal sized. 19th bd always runs long, so I get them hemmed so I can wear them un-tucked without looking too sloppy. In general I don't find EG shirts to vary enough to change sizes, with the exception of the grey / blue stripe miner shirt from a few years ago that ran a full size too large.
