Allen Edmonds Strand colors - "Walnut" vs. "Walnut Calf"

I'm considering picking up a pair of Strands (if I can ever find a deal on them). But I'm really confused about the colors that they come in.

From what I can tell, among others, there is a "Walnut" color, as well as a "Walnut Calf" color. The Walnut Calf is significantly lighter, which is what I want. The Amazon listing has both of them: http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Edmonds-Strand-Perfing-Walnut/dp/B001TDL06K/

However, the Allen Edmonds site itself does not have Walnut, and only has Walnut Calf. But the Walnut Calf that they show seems pretty dark - even darker than Amazon's Walnut color, and much darker than Amazon's Walnut Calf color: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF1635_1_40000000001_-1?style=1626

Further adding to the confusion: On the Allen Edmonds site, it has the model number "1635" for Walnut Calf. An ebay seller claims to be selling the Walnut Calf color, but he has a photo of the box which has model number 1635, and only says Walnut (not Walnut Calf). See the last photo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allen-Edmon...ds-Walnut-Calf-Mens-Dress-Shoes-/191574339316

So to sum up:
- Amazon has colors that Allen Edmonds doesn't have
- The color that Allen Edmonds calls Walnut Calf seems way too dark
- The model number that Allen Edmonds calls Walnut Calf (1635) matches the model number from a box that says Walnut

Is the Allen Edmonds site incorrect? Or am I just completely confused?

Does anyone have a box that says "Walnut Calf" on it? If so, what's the model number?

Thank you!

They're the same thing. You're seeing the natural variations in both the color of Walnut but also photography.

Ah, ok. So to be clear - you're saying the Amazon listing is wrong, and if I ordered one "Walnut" and one "Walnut Calf" I'd get two identical pairs? (At least ignoring natural differences - i.e. identical from Allen Edmonds' perspective)..

Thanks!

They are identical, yes. It's walnut calfskin. Some people refer to it as Walnut Calf, but AE generally refers to it as just Walnut. It's the same thing.
