At one point I had also suggested the opposite of the ‘no-pattern fit’, namely the ‘all-pattern fit’. Then I realized we already have a thread devoted to those—WAYWRN …

I am generally not a fan of four or five pattern bingo. 2-3 seem optimum, and I'd rather a 0 pattern fit than a one pattern fit. Mostly. Depends on where the pattern is, I think. Hmm

Indeed.

In any event, some of the most interesting fits to my eye are those which use texture and weave to blur the line between ‘pattern’ and ‘no pattern’. As necessary as it might be to certain discussions, 'pattern/no pattern' can be a pretty crude dichotomy.
