how to keep beard trimmed very very short?

I have a sensitive skin, and decided to give up on shaving. I've tried all kinds of electric and blades, they all irritate my skin badly.

I don't beards look good on me, and decided to keep a 5 o'clock shadow constantly instead.

I'm curious, does anybody know how to keep your facial hair trimmed very very shortly? Like a 5 o'clock shadow?

Every trimmer I've seen leaves them a way too long.

If you have heard about/used good trimmers, please let me know.

Thanks pals!

Get a regular clippers (the kind used for the hair on your head), make sure it has an attached metal blade guard that can retract up and down 1/16". Remington makes a basic model you can find in any drug store or at Target for around $15. Use that w/o the plastic blade guards, but instead fully extend the attached metal blade guard to the desired length and shave with that - you will leave only a five o'clock shadow.

before you give up completely, have you given them a month's chance? your skin takes about 30 days to get used to a new shaver

1) try exfoliating first while in the shower

2) shave with a new blade every 3 days

3) make sure to use an alcohol-free cream afterwards to soove the skin

I use regular clippers, and I cut in the direction of the growth, happy so far.

If you want a reletively close shave use Andis T clippers against the grain for a five o'clock shadow use a pair of regular hair clippers against the grain. This works for me and I have very sensitive skin. I get very bad razor bumbs shaving with a razor with the grain.
