Thanks!

Do you mean their Imperial Collection?

Way back in 2012 Clarks wanted to bring back English made shoes and commissioned Cheaney to make a luxury line called Earl's Club marketed in Asia (here's a link to the marketing piece. Unfortunately it's in Chinese http://luxury.chinadaily.com.cn/2012-01/06/content_14393803.htm )As it was the Year of the Dragon, the shoes came with not only lasted shoe trees but also a briefcase embossed with a dragon. At slightly >US$1k they were not value for money and in any case the smallest size available at the shop was UK6.0 so I passed. However, a couple of years later I stumbled upon a few UK5.0 Cheaney shoes on eBay and I was intrigued as Cheaney do not offer that size in their collections. So I emailed them and apparently they were leftovers from that Clarks OEM. So I bought a pair directly from the factory shop for around £150. At that price it was a bargain - channelled stitching, fiddleback waist (although executed badly and nowhere near G&G's , but hey, so was the price!). The leather is quite good and has held up quite well.

Would I buy them at £415? Definitely not. If you're a UK6.0 I would suggest looking at AS Exclusives at AFPOS. They are cheaper and come with lasted shoe trees. Plus they offer SF members a 10% discount.

@Chowkin thanks for the info!

Does anyone have suggestions for a brown suede chukka in E or EE?  I really like Loake's Kemptons but the 6UK (F fitting= US E) were too tight.  The color of the brown and shape were perfect, otherwise.  Tried AE's Dundee in 7E in their Brown Suede and while the fit is good, the color is too dark.  Any help is appreciated!

I wonder why only the Malvern in chestnut antique calf on 202 last is available in sizes 4.0 & 4.5.

It's good that on popular models such as Chelsea, they offer not only small sizes down to UK 5.0 but also a choice of "E" and "F" widths

Dug out some photos I took of my Cheaneys mentioned in a previous post. (Next to my EG Inverness)

Hopefully this thread will prove to be useful. Something I struggle with massively is buying shoes, what with being between a UK 5.5 and 6.

I have also just ordered two pairs of boots from Meermin on the Hiro last, one in a 5.5 and one in a 6, so am hoping that at least one pair will fit. I'm rather scared of stories of the stiffness of their leather and breaking in times.

Don't have experience with many brands but:

Grenson Matthew Semi-Brogue

5.5 F

Grenson store. Not as good as Herring or Pediwear etc. Below Loake too for service and value at a similar price point. Very high pricing for shoes partly made in India.
Fit critique

Took forever to break in. Ok now but could have done with being bigger. Their size six was insanely large (biggest I've ever tried) last time I checked but it was on a different last I think. I have had deadstock Grenson's pre-takeover where the 6 fits like a glove.

Maker and style

Herring Knightsbridge Oxford
Last

Source and service

Second to none.
Fit critique

Fit great, almost perfect. Tried the 5.5 and couldn't even get in them.

Source and service

Herring. Very good service as usual.
Fit critique

Too big, which is a shame as they are beyond stunning and Barker don't do a 5.5.

TK Maxx.
Fit critique

Absolutely perfect.

Loake. Good.
Fit critique

Too big. I can't remember if I tried a 5.5 and if not, why not. If I did, they were possibly too big also!

Gentlemen,

Nick at Bespoke England is holding an incredible sale of John Lobb shoes.  Sizes start from UK 5.0.  Definitely worth a look:

Thanks for the info! checked the site today, the only pair I am tempted to buy (suede derby in size 5 at 200 pound) is sold out:brick:, so guess I have saved money!:D

BTW, heard that  the shipping cost is 60 pound to Asia, don't know if it's true.

size 5 is marked as "sold out", GBP40 shipping is more reasonable.

Gentlemen,

Wonder if you have heard of Justin Fitzpatrick, aka the Shoe Snob?  His shoes look quite nice but we small feet guys have never been able to try them on as his regular RTWs start at UK 6.0.  Here's a chance to grab a pair of cap toe Oxfords in either black, brown or burgundy in sizes 5.0 and 5.5 thanks to Massdrop at just US$299.99 a pair:

anyone interested in Sutor Mantellasi chocolate brown punched cap oxfords? They look and fit just like Carmina Simpson punched caps. I have a gently used but excellent condition pair that I am getting ready to list for sale. They are tagged a sz 40.5, would fit a sz 6 in Carmina Rain or 6.5 in Carmina Simpson.

PM for details!

very nice, however I have enough oxfords and are looking for loafers/monk straps ATM, or I would have grabbed these right on spot.

still, thank you very much for the info, @Chowkin, please keep them coming!
