Dinner: Aureole

Gifts: "Adoption" of a baby Elephant. Gift in his name to the WWF (World Wildlife, not Wrestling) to "adpot" an Octopus. Chanel Homme sweater. Hermes gold hippo lock.
Decent for someone who is an animal lover?

Lot's of other stuff I wanted to get; but, Christmas is right after so I will just wait. My other "long-term" relationships were on and off so we never went an entire consecutive year to celebrate like this.

Congrats on the anniversary. Seems like you put a lot of thought into the presents, which is always nice. I used to date someone whose birthday was the day after Christmas, and it was always such a headache to allocate the gifts appropriately.

I think he would appreciate some anal lube.

I'll pass on the very easy "animal lover" joke. For now.

If the person does not normally give to wildlife funds, I'd bypass that. I'd hate to get a "Hey, I got you a great gift, it's a charitable contribution in your name!" although I am very selfish, so take that into account.

For SoCal, that would be the gift that keeps on giving. Is that on your XMas list?

Well it's not like he is a 7 year old and I'm buying him a star.

Like I said, Christmas is a month away so the clothes and stuff like that he wants will come then.

I haven't yet been to Aureole so this is a good reason.

Charlie Palmer is long in the tooth. Nothing is worse than dining amongst 75 year old upper east siders' when one is looking to celebrate.

I would go to Alto and try the new chef, or one of the sexier new spots such as Tailor and that new wine bar Solex.

I just think NYC has more to offer these days...

How in God's name does one adopt an octopus? Do you get to visit it? EDIT: Oh, I see; it sounds endearing though more for myself than for someone else. https://secure.worldwildlife.org/ogc...ail.cfm?gid=23

So tell us SoCal, is he the one? Do you foresee a "marriage" in the future?
That is a lot of gifts for just one year. To many people a year is a long time, but it is no time at all to me. Especially since gifts tend to need to get better year after year.

The most important thing: will you two be in matching Thom Browne suits?

It would be so cute.
