Park hyatt milan

I was just browsing different Hyatt locations around the globe (ideas for vacation locations) and came across a hotel package offered by the Park Hyatt in Milan. Park Hyatt Sounds interesting, at least in concept...but I have better ways to spend EUR 8000 (almost $10,000). Opinions? Comments? Jon.

That seems like kinda a cool package, it seems relatively unclear if that is a per person price or for two though. If that wine (up to $500) is a per night charge, it doesn't seem too excessive, although $10k USD for 3 nights is kinda crazy. Seems interesting anyways.

Heavens above. Eight thousand Euros for three days? And I thought I was a spendthrift.

I would not really recommend Milano as your home base on your next vacation to Italy. Jill and I usually have to spend 2-3 nights there due to the number of meetings we have within an hour of there in Como, Biella etcetera but it isn't a favorite. Think Jersey City with better food. It is a MUCH BETTER idea to stay in/around Florence (Firenza) and take the train to Milan for a day of shopping. If you go to Florence the Excelsior is our favorite. Jill is the ultimate Goddess of Hotel and Airline points and always manages to get us a $1500/night suite for free for a couple nights. There are lots of bed and breakfast type places in Tuscany and all would be far more enjoyable than Milan. Milan is for business more than pleasure IMHO. Likewise if you need to do business around Napoli it is worth the inconvenience to stay in Sorrento or Positano. There is something about watching the sunset over Capri that makes leaving there quite tragic. ...especially after you get addicted to the food. Rome is still my personal favorite but I'm anerd and love the historical stuff.

Well, I would only spend one or two nights in Milan anyways, I would still make Rome the highlight of my trip. And then, off to London. Jon.
