When these first appeared on the web site a few weeks ago they were listed at $290 ish. Now I see them for $190 and I sort of wish I hadn't bought a pair up in Manchester for that price, thinking they were discounted. Whatever, I like them anyways and I'm sure to use them a decent amount spending this winter in Boston and Prague.

Just wondering what SF thought of them.

They're okay, but I'd never buy or wear them. Their design is rooted from the old monkey boot styles, and I've never been a fan of those either.

more of a sneaker than a boot...i'd prefer the boot over the sneaker though.

Reviving this thread a bit, since I'm curious...

Doug,

How are these working out for you? Are they warm and/or waterproof at all? Does the shearling insulation work well? Saw them in the store and I liked them, as I like all non-branded subtle sneaker looks.

I want to bring this to life again and maybe get more opinions on them. The price on them are pretty decent and yes they are more of a sneaker than a boot and i think they look pretty good. It remind sme of some shoes worn in maybe early 20's but in sneaker version, actually I don't know what time period I am thinking of but ti seems to give the impression of a old-vintage style by the shape of it and the color.

Their made by AE so I'm guessing quality shouldn't be an issue?

Sorry I didn't catch the bump on Dec 14th.

Mine are holding up well, but they're definitely out of the rotation for now. They are extremely warm and the only water they've seen is from snow as it melts. I've also probably only worn them 20 times or so, so can't really comment on the durability. They did work great for walking around Prague and Boston in the winter, which is what I bought them for.

As far as styling goes, they remind me of the leather shoes worn by boxers back in the 20s
