Attention Atlanta Members (Sid Mashburn)

Just had one of the most refreshing discussions I've ever had with a salesman in a clothing store. Over my lunch break by chance I ran into a mens clothing store called Sid Mashburn, named after the owner, and let me say it comes as a well needed addition to the dismal Atlanta dressing scene.

Talking with Sid was like many of our discussion topics, he knew his stuff and has a great eye for clothing. He used to work with RL and was a designer for Lands End, now he is on his own. He favors the neapolitan style with a trad edge and pulled it off very well himself. His private label clothing under his name is made in the USA and consists of pants, shoes, and shirts. His shoes are made by Alfred Sargent and look to be very nice. Brands that he carries are as follows (off the top of my head):

Suits:
Raffaele Caruso (RTW and MTM!)
Sartoria (Kiton's lower priced line)

Shirts:
Truzzi (RTW and MTM)
Kiton (RTW and MTM)
Sid Mashburn (RTW and MTM)

Pants:
Incotex
Cucinelli
Sid Mashburn

Shoes:
Edward Green
Alden
Peluso
Sid Mashburn

Casual:
Cucinelli
Sid Mashburn
APC
Levi's
Mackintosh

Luggage:
Globetrotter
Filson
Jack Spade

If your in the area its a must see in Atlanta. Sid seems to be a wonderful down to earth individual that gives honest feedback to his customers.

Not to mention he plays Belle and Sebastian on his web site. I'd visit his store just because of that. Looking forward to checking out the store next time I'm back visiting the family in Georgia.

Bill,

This is great news. Thanks for sharing. I have to make a trip now.

How is the pricing? Reasonable?

Pricing is on par with most establishments. Caruso sportcoats, for example, were listed for $1,350.

Pete from Ralph Lauren just told me about this place last week...he said I'd love it.

Add in the Belle and Sebastian equation and Bill's endorsement and this means I will visit asap.

Great news indeed...thanks Bill.

They are sending me a pdf catalog. I will report on my findings.

They told me EG would be in the $1,100ish range...still waiting for their first shipment.

Thanks for the Heads up, I currently reside in metro atlanta area and often avoid most stores due to their sales people. This is refreshing news to know a store of this caliber actually exsists in Atlanta, I will definately be checking it out this week. And for some quarky reason I too am enthralled about shopping while listening to belle and sebastian

Thanks for this. I spoke to Sid just now about some Aldens. He is extremely helpful and took my name down to get back with me after he asks Alden about ordering the Indy Boot for me.
