Since it's getting to be that time of year again (when you get to wear your tuxedo, and try to squeeze some more outta that investment), thought it would be fun to share photos of what you're wearing for special events this year.

here's mine-- wearing it tonight to a black tie event.

Will you be modeling it for the forum, and if so can we expect a cummerbund, waiscoat, or nothing? (I am sure no one is suprised that TheFoxx is self-tying...I bet he can even do it blindfolded!)

Even just on the hanger I have to say: What a classic.

Not sure this qualifies as prOn considering the poor quality of pics but here is what I wore a couple weeks ago to a black tie event:

Brioni 1BPL tux
Borrelli tuxedo shirt with a marcella bib
RLPL bow tie
Thurston braces

gdl203, great looking tuxedo! We'll have to see how my Brioni compares with yours when I snap a photo in a few hours. How did your thurston braces feel during the event? I'm hoping the tabs on mine don't cause discomfort or anything like that while I'm sitting. I won't be wearing anything extra at the waist, a al Bond Casino Royale. Also, because I always wear a pocket square with my suits and most sportcoats, I'm going without for the tux.

gdl203, If I may also ask-- what shoes did you wear with your tuxedo?

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Braces felt fine - no real issue

I was secretly hoping you would NOT ask!! That specific event had a very particular dress code and I honored it... "Black tie and sneakers"

Otherwise I'd wear my U last Vass oxfords with a mirror shine (I don't have any patent shoes and don't really feel the desire to have a pair)

quick question, do you prefer your tux pants pleated or flat front?
I think if you go with the Bond look, it looks best with flat front pants, but most tux off the rack come with pleated pants (inlcuding mine, which almost forces me to wear a comberbond or a vest for a more formal look)

**photos in 'what are you wearing now**

You know, the tux looks midnite blue in the photo but I'm not really sure. looks black to me. see what you think of the shirt as worn, I'm not a huge fan of a two button collar fastening, sorta hard to get both buttoned.

Here's a picture from my brother's wedding (he's in the middle), I'm on his left, our brother-in-law on his right. My brother and I both have Isaia peaked lapel, single button, unvented tuxedo. He is wearing a Brooks Brothers 3 button waistcoat, I have a plain black cummerbund. Pardon the big lapel flower (at the request of the bride, can't be helped)

That is a smokin' waistcoat...it's good to be the groom!

Yes, that waistcoat is quite classic, which was my intention when I made the purchase. It's not the multi button monstrosities being passed off as classic black/white tie waist coat nowadays. I let my brother wear it as it does appear more formal.
