How do you like it, the BBQ Sauce?

Kansas City? St. Louis? Carolina? Sweet? Spicy? Put on while cooking? Only put on after it's plated? Mustard, vinegar or tomato based?

For me, I prefer tomato based with some spice, heat, and a little sweetness. I prefer to put a goodly amount on, but only after it's plated, never while cooking.

I like mine sweet and spicy. Tony Roma's "Carolina Honey" seems to be the most widely-available bottle close enough to my tastes but love Crazy Charley (coffee-based) when I can find it. As for restaurants, Love's in LA isn't bad while Wood Ranch has a very non-traditional sauce in terms of consistency and color. I stock up on WR whenever I pass by one of their chains as their sauce is killer. Anyone have any decent recipes? I've tried making my own before and found it to be decent but definitely not worth all of the work involved.

After years of enjoying BBQ from the east coast, through the mid-west and south to the west coast I enjoyed a lot of different kinds that were all delicious. But, I felt I died and went to heaven when I went to Everett & Jones BBQ in Oakland, CA in 1978. They have three kinds, mild, medium and hot all put on the meat after the dish is plated. Man, I am getting hungry just typing this. I wonder what time they close????

I'm a BoneSucker: http://www.bonesuckin.com/bonesuckinsauce.html Specifically, the Thick Hot style. Their mustard sauce is killer as well.

In upstate New York, there's a BBQ joint called Brooks' which has the best BBQ I've ever encountered. bar none. The sauce is molasses and vinegar based, with some tomato and heroin. I must go back. ~Huntsman

If I see pulled pork on the menu I must order it. Just thinking about it right now makes my mouth water.
I'm totally going to R.U.B. for dinner tonight.

Bone Suckin Sauce is probably among the best you can by in grocery stores. It's the only one i could find that didn't contain high fructose corn syrup, and i prefer the taste to other's i've tried at friend's places.
