Some stores in the Chicago area carry Coke made in Mexico and bottled in glass. The difference is that Mexican Coke is made with sugar rather than corn syrup. I buy this when I'm making Cuba Libres. It definitely tastes better than regular Coke.

its true about both mexican coke and kosher coke being made from real sugar...mex coke is commonly found in the southwest.....while kosher coke is not for farily obvious reasons.

I work in a corporate capacity for coca cola handling west and southwest US regions.

Coke in glass bottles definitely tastes better, I'd say it's worth the extra cost.

I don't drink soda as a general rule, but I sometimes make an exception for Mexican Coke. It's pretty good. Not a fan of Mexican Pepsi though, I think it tastes worse than the regular US stuff.

I have a full sized vintage coke vending machine (5 cents per bottle) and I buy a couple of bottles just to stock inside

So you have to find a store close to the border that will allow the imported deliveries. AZ and CA are obviously the easiest/best. It took me a while to find one here in UT. Or, although it's not Coca-Cola, a few soft drink companies are now making their sodas with sugar. I believe Jones' would probably be the easiest one to find.

Hell, grocery stores here in ND carry Mexican Coke. It can't be that hard to find elsewhere.

It seems to have gotten a lot more prevalent recently. You used to have to search for it even in Arizona, but now it is, as others have mentioned, readily available at Costco, Wal-Mart, other stores and even some restaurants.

Coke in glass bottles definitely tastes better.

Not here. We carried it when I worked in a grocery store in the late 80s. It might be due to the relatively large number of migrant workers we get here in the summers, but I don't know for sure.

Wait, so is it in ND grocery stores now or not? I'm confused.

Oh, I was saying "not here" to the word "recently." Sorry for the ambiguity.

To me, there is nothing like totally fresh coke drunk straight from a real glass, poured over ice. Deeeelicious.

In fact, this thread made me saunter over to the Coke machine at the office, and I'm enjoying one right now.

It is only manufactured for a few weeks before passover, easily identified by the "Kosher for Passover" on the label.

Can I get a Proxy?

every time I go to a local BBQ joint here I order a coke in a bottle. $1 each is worth it. Tastes better imo
