Along with Grenson, PS is using both a Spanish and Italian maker (or makers). Here's a pair made, I believe, in Italy:

The Spanish and Italian shoes are being offered at a lower price point meant to appeal to a younger consumer, and to those reluctant to pony up for the price for the SC shoes. They're more fashion forward as well, as evidenced by this rather questionable pair:

I was in the Chicago store recently. They still have some Stuart's choice laying around that were made by EG.

They looked an awful lot like my Sloanes, on a round-toe last (065) but they're not sloanes. Brown penny loafer of some type. The salesman told me they are not EG, but William Greene or something weird, allegedly no relation....but I think he was messing with me because he figured if I had the sense to look at a heel pattern and the size/model numbering and identify the maker, I would find it funny.

These sound like the early Grensons. After PS made the switch from EG, they had Grenson make the SC shoes to look like the EGs. This included using the name "William Green and Son," the name of Grenson's parent company (and the original name of Grenson).

Wow....interesting. Then I'm 75% sure this pair was EG and the guy just didn't look closely. They have the sideways "Made In England" script, the slanted rubber heel with 1/4" nails pattern from EG and the size/model were hand-written in a little oval on the left side of the inside upper. I looked at it next to a pair that I knew were Grenson and they did not look alike to me at all. - but I've been wrong before
