I'd like to discuss pros and cons of various designer ready-to-wear suits. I haven't had a suit custom-made yet, so i can't comment on that. Â However, to my mind, the best thing going is the super slim-fit or the antithesis of the type of suit a politician would wear. A few months ago I purchased my first "grown-man" suit for my first serious job out of college. Â I've long been a fan of Hedi Slimane's work from the sidelines, so when it was time I got a black Dior-Homme 3-button on sale at Barney's. The tailoring is impeccable for off the rack. Â The new Alexander McQueen men's stuff looks pretty good too, I like Jil Sander and Helmut Lang, but I honestly don't think anyone else is making men's clothes on the level of Slimane. Â I know this discussion board tends to be more on the conservative side of the spectrum, but is there anyone else out there who really feels the skinnier, hipper stuff?
