just thought i'd share something i recently found. when i was in high school i really wanted a pair of doc martens but i couldn't stand the yellow stitching they have. i searched in vein for shoes that were just like them sans the stitching and eventually gave up. so yesterday i was browsing at shoes international and found that they have two pairs without the stitching, including the 1461 which is the standard model people think of, in shoes, not boots. here's a picture: i checked the doc martens u.s. website and they have the same shoe but only with the yellow stitching. i know to many of you it sounds like i'm writing about nothing but maybe this will help someone who, like me, has always liked everything about doc martens except for that one tiny detail that breaks the deal. i'm guessing the u.s. distributor sees the yellow stitching as a selling point or brand identifier or some other corporate b.s.
