You guys are KILLLING ME....

I just bought the Darlton wings for $383 shipped (damn CA sales tax).

That's it, I have to sell 2-3 of my lesser cordovan shoes because of this, recoup my costs...

how do the darltons run size wise? I assume these sizes are pretty standard for the US market, no? I am a 9.5 in most AE and 8.5 UK in loake.

What is the concensus on what size i should get from polo?

I've tried darltons on in the store and they seemed to fit true.

I own bentons and another jodhpur by RL and they also fit true.

Unless you know specific information, it's probably best to start with your true size, but I'm sure some other resident experts have more to say.

I too would like to know if this is a good deal, or if I'm better off springing $150 more for C&J bench grade tetbury's from plal if I'm interested in this style.

Got the darlton wings and loafers this morning, plus a cricket sweater and a couple of rugby shirts...says "imported" on the swaeter must be from asia, certainly not scotland

My experience is the C&J shoes run slightly larger than normal size. I am usually am 11D, but I went down half a size otherwise I have to wear thick socks all the time and the loafers should stretch out anyway. The dark brown shell sure looks nice.

hmmm so for me looks like I will size down in the wingtips and stay normal size in the loafers. I have a high instep and have to size up most of the time.

Thanks Whacked. Nothing for me then

I have the Darlton plain toe blucher from last year's sale. They run just a bit big but I stick with my true size as I use them mostly as winter shoes with heavier socks anyway.

FWIW, most of the models in casual clothes on the RL site are wearing the cordovan wingtips. It's been that way for years.

Does the Polo website instantly update availability or do you think some of us might not get our Darltons?

The website stock is definitely not real-time. I placed an order to get two belts during the summer sale. I received everything but the two belts, being notified in two separate emails that a certain belt was actually out of stock.

maybe it's not real time, but they probably had a ton of stock before the sale stated? I can't imagine $400 brown wingtips to be a hot ticket overall.

Quick question. What's so good about the Darlton's, that everyone is clamoring for them?
