I expect to finish my undergrad (5 yrs) in about 18k.

Thats after me saving up about 7k before college, the financial aid im geetting, working 2 PT jobs, and going to a public college.

No car payments besides insurance, no phone bills (thanks brotato), just college food and rent.

I graduated with about $3,000 in debt. My parents picked up my first 3 years of school and I payed for my tuition my last year.

State school tuition was very cheap back then.

Christ-on-a-stick, that kind of thing makes me wince. I frequently count my lucky stars that I was too dumb to get into the private law school that was my first choice and had to settle for the public school that was my second choice. Best accidental decision I ever made.
Between working and some scholarship/fellowship stuff during both undergrad and law school, and the subsidizing of my education by the State of CA, I finished with maybe $10k in debt or thereabouts iirc.

16K undergrad (three years, all Stafford), full ride for grad school, so $0. Still have about 5 left to repay.

60,000 and counting. Six schools, no degree, and grad school on the horizon. Life is sweet.

Just $6k in loans two years ago thanks to scholarships and family, and I made that much in work study for spending money. Now I'm getting paid to go to grad school. Physical sciences are where its at

Good god, I'm glad my major offers things like fellowships, subsidized tuition, and a research stipend. Some of your folks grad school debts are mind boggling.

So far I have $0 in debt from 3 years of school, and I hope to damn well keep it that way after I transfer and start grad school.
