wearing what fits your body type will never go out of style. a cut that flatters your body will never go out of style. dark clean cut jeans will never go out of style.

Whats 'in' here in Virginia Beach is skinny jeans with big chunky skater shoes. Im not a fan of that look but, 'whatevs' (as they say). The skinny jean w/ chucks like The Ramones is classic rocker which is cool. I think the trend is skinny with baggy ass (antifit I guess) and big shoes.

BTW really baggy jeans are still in as well. When will that go away? Probably never.

Skinny is the nut hugging stuff that lots of emo kids wear. Slim is the stuff we often see on styleforum. The masses simply can't tell the difference though.

I don't know if you're also a superfuture member but a decent amount of users have what i'd call skinny jeans over there. Depending on the brand and the owner, they can look really good. Skinny jeans generally only work if you're well....skinny.

Most mall rats you see are wearing girl jeans from american eagle or something.

I don't know, maybe i'm a bit anal in differentiating between slim, skinny and skin tight/leggings though

I think skinny jeans will soon be gone as the fashionble young guys choice. Acne and Whyred, which I see very much as an expression of the swedish slim look, has recently made more normal, 501 styled jeans that seems intended to be the new staple. I also read an article about demise of the dior skinny male model, in favour of a more "normal" aesthetic. But of course, sub culturally skinny jeans will still exist.

Personlly Im glad for it, since that might been that H&Ms "normal" pant cut might be a bit fuller.

The thing where the jeans are painted on to the legs of stick-figure boys is ready to go....even though I still see it around Williamsburg a bit.

I'll agree here, but I'd replace "trend" with "statement." Some subcultures wore skinny jeans before they were popular, and they'll be wearing them after their popularity dies, too.

In the 90s, you could look at a dude in skinny jeans and have a pretty good idea of his lifestyle. Nowadays, that dude in skinny jeans might listen to Nas for all you know.

They're out of my closet in favor of Levis 505s. Turns out skinny jeans look really bad on me; and these don't.

There's not been much sign of anything emerging to replace the slim taper as the 'fashion cut' as yet... summer 08 catalogues still seem to be plastered with them.

If anything the thigh and rise measurements are getting bigger at the moment (carrot fits and oversized dropped crotches), but the slim hem opening isn't really going anywhere.
