Modern Rugs

So, I recently bought a Tabriz and then subsequently decided that I wanted to go with a modern motif for the living / dining area (no idea what I'll do with the Persian). I was looking for rugs, and I found quite a few that I like @ modernrugs.com (fond of Nani Marquina's stuff in particular) but holy poop, is it pricy. Anything I can do about that or do I roll with the punches?

Paul Smith and Omar Sharif recently designed rugs.

What's your budget, and what are you looking for? "Modern" is pretty broad.
I have a rug from CB2. It's cheap, but 100% wool and looks nice. I like this one from DWR at http://www.dwr.com/productdetail.cfm...C-GB9049936277. A great site to search through is http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com. Lots of great stuff of all price levels in there.

oh, I just missed this. try rugrag.com, they have a lot of info before purchasing. the site map helped us out a lot. they also say watch out for the tufted rugs because of the odors and poor lifetime. you may find these helpful. http://www.rugrag.com/search.aspx?q=tufted then when I used the style thingy they have, i came up with this http://www.rugrag.com/post/Gabbeh-Or...d-Carpets.aspx I love it, hope you do too.

also, a lot of people say they like modern, but apparently there's a big difference between modern and contemporary. most people like contemporary I think

I like some of the Madeline Weinrib rugs, but they are pricey as well.

For The Rug Company, no? Their line is very nice. So is Delinear.

Bah, yearly necrobumped by spam and you just now point out other options. I'd already bought another rug though I'm still looking for one for the dining room.

For anyone who cares - other companies include Kasthall, Paolo Lenti, Woodnotes, Danskina and Grand Splendid. All of them cost as much as Nani Marquina or higher, however.

Wow. One year to the day. If the spam had waited half an hour, it could have been a seamless necrobump.

It may or may not be your style, but check out what Jonathan Adler has in their store. Online it is hard to get an idea and there is less selection, but you basically get to choose from hundreds of combinations because everything is made to order (color and size). Their designs range from typical to classic to contemporary, but when you can pick out all of the colors and order in your exact size, it turns into a pretty good deal. BTW, don't be turned off by what is shown online. They have much better selection in the store.
