Our Ebay shop getting up and running

At this time getting a good amount of Martegani closeouts from the EU market - have over 70 pair listed with another equal amount to be posted this week.....alot of the classic low-vamp patterns are next. Also samples, some returns from a shop in Amsterdam, etc. This will be the only Ebay shop I am involved in from now on.....please don't search for 'wholecut'; this is our shop -

As always, let me know any questions or comments in either PM or direct email form.....always happy to do my best to help. The only question I routinely get that I would prefer not to answer (even though I still do) is the 'can you tell me the measurements of the length and width'. Measuring the outsole with a tape measure is a very poor way of determining the fit of a particular shoe/last.

Thanks for all the support, and please do send your comments.

In 3B, if I normally wear 8.5 I should get 8?

KW,

I have a suede brogue on the 3b last in 8.5 and I am normally an 8.5. It is a little loose. So I just sized down on a pair of the double monks in size 8. I hope that helps a little.

Ron,

Thanks for the great offerings What is a Zip sole? I just ordered a pair of double monks with the 'Zip' sole.

Hi -

For last 75 and 7Y I should also size down a half size right? Normally 11 1/2.

thanks

Kent, I normally wear a 9.5 US, and a pair of Marteganis, 3B last, in their size 8.5 fit perfectly. This might suggest 7.5 in Martegani for you, but check with Ron. He knew when I ordered that the Marteganis marked 8.5 would work for me.

I like the 75 last and wonder whether anyone has some sizing experience with this last. Does it fit--sizewise--like the 3B?

So the consensus on the 3B last is Your normal size - 1?

Hi Kent! Yes, that would be true in 95% of the cases....I rarely fit 3B as 'normal' size; always down 1/2.

Thanks!

What I call a 'Zip' sole is what most here call a 'Topy'. It's the Vibram tap sole in the picture. Honestly, I have no idea how it ended up on a new shoe, but there it is.

NO! That would be very unusual. Most of my lasts fit 'typical' size without problems. 3B, which is very popular, is the one that we fit down 1/2 length.

For 7Y, which is relatively new on the market, I have noticed quite a few bumping up 1/2 size if you have a high instep of a little bit of a wide foot.

I know it's not easy, but I can always give an opinion if I know what you wear in other shoes.

Half size down. If you wear a 10, in A/E for example, you would look at 9.5 in 3B.

For reference, my experience would be:

10 Park Ave. =

9.5 in 3B and 71
10 in just about every other last
10.5 in 8R and 7Y

And if you like the low-vamp styles (not listed yet) then you would actually look at 11!

What a sad day in shoe history. The only pair left that fit me are the alligator derbies. I'm tempted, as the pimpy side of my closet isn't really filled out too well, but I'm not sure I can pull the trigger. I'm digging those suede double monks.
