Crap, I forgot to tell you Ron that I tried out Creed Original Cologne. I was completely unimpressed.

Surprised that you didn't like Aqua Universalis Forte. I thought that was the standout from MKK's lineup.

I got over the original cologne. It's a little too feminine and definitely not worth the money. I like the AUF - but like I said... it's best as a candle.

I like Creed Original Cologne. It's an interesting modern take on the classic cologne. I think the pear and petitgrain notes are a lot of what I like. (Interestingly, I normally don't like either of those notes. But they're blended very well here.) As ChicagoRon mentioned it is a bit feminine, but that doesn't bother me. Also, I got my bottle on sale for $550, so I don't feel bad about the price at all. (Okay, the last sentence is completely false; Rambo sent me some.)

Also, to me APOM and Lumiere Noire are the standouts from the Francis Kurkdjian line.

whoops, wrong thread.

Anyway, what's your take on MFK Absolue Pour Le Soir? I've heard mad raves about it, and it sounds assertive enough to keep my attention.

Good, not great. Worth a sample, maybe a decant.

I just got two bottles based on recommendations in this thread; Eau de Lalique and Balmain de Balmain.

I really like the Balmain but the Lalique (although beautiful and very interesting) is a bit feminine/powdery for me at the moment. I'll probably give it another try when the weather warms up.

Other scents in my collection are:
Terre d'Hermes
Green Irish Tweed
Guerlain Vetiver
Carven Vetiver
Michael Kors (I liked this at first, it's been getting a bit cloying for me lately)
Burberry Weekend (my daughter loves this)
Leu d'Issey (ditto, and it never gets old for me)
Paco Rabanne por Homme
A generic barbershop Bay Rum

I have a few samples on the way of:
Bigarade Concentree
Angeliques Sous la Pluie
Millesime Imperial

I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit but haven't decided what direction I want to take.
