Well, at least in competitive, you don't have to finish the games.

If they stall out your cart before the first point, the second round ends as soon as they push the cart further than you did. Haven't been seeing much of it on PC, although effectively placed torbs and bastions still wreck uncoordindated teams.

My rankings are awful. I played my placement matches and got placed at 46. Worked that up to 48 in what felt like pretty easy games to me.

Then I had a couple of losing streaks in groups...honstly, the groups weren't good enough to make up for the fact that groups get matched with groups. The players weren't bad, but just lacked the coordination of a good group (e.g. a random player at the same level would have been equally good). Lost 8-10 ranks in the course of 2 sessions (was having fun in the group, so I didn't really mind...assumed it would be easy to climb back out in solo-queue).

Now I can't escape. I feel like I am stuck with total noobs. My only success has been good play in a 2-group, or playing in a 3-group where the third player is actually really good. Even then, progress is slow and a few losses will toss me down...hit 38 again last night.

Hard to grasp it...I think I am decent at the game, but I get these teammates who can't play the game. I'm back to losing because lucio jumps off the point during overtime (and the junkrat standing next to it refuses to step on it). Sure, Sometimes I get those idiots on the other team...but when the game is reduced to a flip of the coin on which team has more idiots, it isn't really fun. And it is hard to move up since many of my losses take away bigger chunks of rank than my wins grant (especially if someone rage-quits when they are losing...stats are still bugged so the winners get very low rank for beating quitters).

My Quick Match MMR is pretty good--I get consistently matched with solid players who teamplay and don't noob it up...so why is my competitive rank so screwed?

Yah, it requires a lot of walking outside to get Pokemons and taking over gyms.

Noooo

I really don't like that.

Maybe a limit of 2 or 3?

I know that stacking torbs is a problem on console, but there are lots of interesting combos that work with multiple heroes. Dual winstons or Dual lucios can be fun. And sometimes the best counter to a comp is doubling up on something that exploits their weakness.

Also makes it hard to switch charachters with someone...you both have to be dead. Trading off isn't *that* uncommon in pick up groups. Say we really need a widow to counter the enemy, but I am a terrible widow. You are a good widow and are currently playing lucio. I'll go lucio, rush back to the battle (so we aren't left without a healer), and then you can change to widow.

Or if a teammate is just trash...

Like if our pharah is garbage, I can switch to pharah and do her job myself.

Ditto for like...soldier 76 is failing to take out enemy pharah...what...do I have to switch to some less-effective hero just because my teammate can't or won't do it?

Finally...in noob-tier, we are probably going to have players being asshats, and unless blizzard starts moderating hard, it is hard to avoid.

The constant-Hanzo players are going to be like "Hanzo or I feed" like asshats do in MOBAs when they don't get to play what they want.

THe answer is obviously to remove torbjorn from the game entirely, because he's worthless and everyone who plays him is too

World's most cautious Overwatch player?

Just goes to show you that stats don't mean shit when you can't play with a team. 28% win rate in competitive and now ranked around the bottom 1-2%.

#1 in kill:death ratio for both comp and quick...and good other stats...but only plays soldier 76 and is probably unwilling to push with his team (since that might kill him and hurt his ratio).

This guy would be pretty unhappy:

Rank 75 or 76. Well into the top 1% of players.

Doesn't play anything besides Torbjorn, attack or defense.

Picked up DA: Inquisition from the XBL sale last week, have put some time into it. Kinda fun, but the Witcher's combat is more interesting (still haven't finished that either...). I'll keep going and see what happens. First DA game so I'm totally lost. Doesn't seem to matter. Mostly it makes me pine for Mass Effect.

Snorlax spawned in my office today. Threw pokeball at its face.

I'd be really tempted to pick this up after release if I can find it on sell for under $50.

Nintendo is bringing back the NES — only a little smaller.

Today the company announced what it's calling the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. It looks just like a NES, only a lot tinier, and it comes with 30 games built in. You can connect it to your TV via a HDMI cable, and it also includes a controller designed to work just like the iconic rectangular NES gamepad. (The new controller will also connect to a Wii Remote, so that you can use it to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.)

In addition to HDMI support and a lack of cartridges, the new mini-console also features one useful modern convenience: multiple suspend points, so that you won't have to fumble around with passwords when you start playing a game again. The NES Classic Edition will be available on November 11th for $59.99.

Here's the complete list of games:

Balloon Fight
Bubble Bobble
Castlevania
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
Final Fantasy
Galaga
Ghosts'N Goblins
Gradius
Ice Climber
Kid Icarus
Kirby's Adventure
Mario Bros.
Mega Man 2
Metroid
Ninja Gaiden
Pac-Man
Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
StarTropics
Super C
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tecmo Bowl
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Yes, you can easily emulate those games on a number of devices, but this is legal and gives you the full retro experience. The HDMI out is really nice. Too bad it's not networked so you can download more games.

I would actually insta-kop a Super Nes version of this. That was one of my all time favorite systems and I far better memories of playing on it then I do the Nes.

That looks awesome. Could consider it at $60 since I don't play a lot of console games these days
