I used amazon's 20% prime discount to grab the origins edition for $48.

Sites like those are illegal pretty much and I assume are stolen keys, though. I bet a lot of them get deactivated, or maybe not A LOT but some do. It's not a support retailer. Buyer beware! tongue.gif

Meh. There's been very few cases where keys from larger/more popular key sellers were actually deactivated (and those cases were resolved quickly). I can only think of one instance where a batch of BF (I think?) keys indeed originally fell off a truck. I'm really not worried about it.

I've read that the new DooM game is a lot of fun.

Single player is supposed to be pretty good. Multiplayer is a disaster.

I played the multiplayer beta and it was bad. That means nothing to me though since no one really played DooM for multiplayer. The videos of single player simply look like what you'd expect a modern DooM game to look like, which is great.

OVERWATCH!

Game is slick. Launch went smooth. Servers were up maybe...10 minutes late?

Yeah, 18 minutes. After that, absolutely no problems for me. XBone has/had some problems though. Really, really well done. No disasters like in WoW/D3. Not even a queue. Haven't watched it yet, but this video explains the netcode behind OW and how it can easily deal with high traffic.

I just hope we get 60 ticks for all game modes.

I think the real reason it worked is that they are set to scale onto AWS (and if possible, they may have devoted resources to the OW launch that they will move over to the next WoW expansion launch when OW calms down). They mention this in the video as an aside, but it is the real reason why the game could cope with the launch. The netcode just makes it work once you get a slot in a server.

The tick rate thing doesn't bother me that much. Maybe I just don't really notice it.
