For the Steam Sale, I think State of Decay is an extremely underrated game. It's an action-RPG 3rd person open world zombie game with RPG elements. There is perma-death so if you die, you assume your choice of someone else in your base of survivors. The game gives an unreal sense of suspense. You can be out gathering supplies and get in a fight, but slowly you realize that a few more zombies that came to your location might change the sway of the fight. Do you stay and save your companions, or rush to the nearest vehicle and save yourself? It's also fairly fast paced and somewhat strategic, yet it's not a slow paced game.
I've been bugging people at work to play it, the one person who I convinced has since become obsessed with it.
I played it about a year ago, and it was still pretty buggy. My main dude got trapped on the porch of a house and wouldnt vault over the railing to get away. So pissed that happened. Also at that time your supplies would be consumed in real time, even when you werent playing the game, so I came back to the game after a couple days and my base was in shambles. I'm all for realism, but I don't like feeling tethered to the game.
