i wouldn't say that. Agree with it being an underrepresented era but I enjoyed many of the Westerns I played. Well except the Wild Arms series but the developers secretly want to make Sci-fi games obviously.

Valve posted a teaser trailer for Half-Life 2 (and Episode(s)), being released tomorrow on Mac. So much love for Valve... I've been replaying a decent chunk of my Steam library on my iMac, including Peggle Deluxe, Machinarium, World of Goo and Portal. Got Super Mario Galaxy 2 today and have played through to the second world. So much love and creativity; I didn't think the sequel would have the same magic, but it most definitely does. Smiles abound.

Manny, do you know where I can find a copy of Grim Fandango? It hasn't been re-released or updated recently, right?

You can oftentimes find it pretty cheap on eBay and Amazon. It's pretty problematic in newer Windows, though -- there's a fan-made app called Grim Fandango Launcher that's supposed to help boot the game, however I've heard there are still a handful of issues with the game's performance. I haven't tried it out.

At this point your best bet is probably wait for LucasArts to iron the issues out and release it on Steam or Good Old Games, or for a Monkey Island: SE-style remake, which... isn't exactly exciting as it seems they're only going to get around to one a year, and I've heard that the next one is going to be another one of the hand drawn games.

Damn. I've got Monkey Island SE to tide me over, but I hear Fandango is essential. Does my having a Mac (and not Windows) help?

So disappointed in Valve's handling of Steam for Mac so far. No releases yesterday. Not too sure why they couldn't have held the program back a month to insure at least a first-party game every Wednesday for while. Guess delays just aren't Valve's thing.

Valve is the best. I know loads of people are upset with the slow rollout, but I think it has been particularly annoying to me, as a pre-Half-Life Valve fan that recently decided it was a sign not to put a Windows partition on his new iMac as it arrived the day Steam for Mac came out. Steam is all I used Windows for. I need my TF2. Also, yeah, for a company so perfectionist in the post-Steam release debacle era, the whole thing has been pretty haphazard. TF2 beta is more playable than Portal was when it was released. Also, releasing the CS: Source beta only to those already in the beta (PC players) is just... silly. It'll work itself out eventually, it's just been sloppy (for Valve). -- Has anyone here read the first issue of Kill Screen, and if so, what do you think about it? The first issue was very admirable for the talent pool, but I think it's a little slim for the price, and it wasn't necesarilly the best work by any of the authors. I'd love to contribute, but deadline for the third issue is early June and I have too much on my plate right now.

Valve says Thursday is the next big release day, following WWDC (predicting the engineer update and Mac release of TF2). Also, Jonny Greenwood's favorite games.
