Just (finally?) bought Skyrim during the Steam sale w/ a 33% Bethesda coupon from crafting Christmas coal. I really don't need this distraction in my life right now, but I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Just watched the trailer for it last night. Is it along the lines of playing like Dante's Inferno? God of War type play?

Once I am finished with Skyrim, I am going to start Fallout 3 GOTY. And inbetween that, I will play some NBA Jam On Fire Edition/NBA 2k12/Uncharted.

It's an RPG, but with arcade-ish gameplay that you might compare to GoW, although with more options in weapon types, upgrades, magic, etc. Open world, but not as open or as involved as Sykrim. The character development part reminds me a bit of Dragon Age.

Hmmmm may have to check it out then. Between Skyrim and Fallout 3, I will be spent on open worlds.

Is there a lot of character developement/items/hidden gear? Or is it straight forward, like beat this boss get this magical sword?

Well I'm not that far in, but what I gather is that it's supposed to be similar to Diablo in terms of loot. That might be hype, but I am definitely picking up a lot of different types of items.

It's definitely not going to have the depth of something like Skyrim in terms of the variety of things to do or different areas to explore. It's more of an action/rpg with a bit more freedom and story than most. I would play New Vegas first, because that game owns.

You sold me at Diablo. hahaha. That game has consumed many of my living hours. And waiting for 3rd installment. Once you play a little more, share your thoughts as I would be interested to know how you feel about this game. BTW, you playing PS3 or XBOX360?

And is New Vegas a continuation of Fallout 3? Or just a seperate stand alone game?

New Vegas is stand alone. Gameplay is similar but not identical. Personally I think it's an improvement in most ways. Your choices have a lot more effect on the story, for one thing.

Duly noted. Thanks for sharing. Will definitely have to add the Ultimate Edition to my purchase list now. Hahaha.

BTW, I just realized you were saying earlier that you were about to play Fallout 3 and not New Vegas. I wasn't actually suggesting that you play New Vegas before Fallout 3. Just that I wouldn't recommend dropping Fallout 3 OR New Vegas for KoA, as those are both great games and KoA seems to be shaping up to a very good one.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure

The producer of The Day of the Tentacle and the producer of Maniac Mansion decided to make a new adventure game and used kickstarter to get funded. Asking for 400.000$ they already got 1.200.000$!

Bought it, haven't played yet. I still need to finish up uncharted 3.

I finished Uncharted 3 a few days after buying it. Now I´m playing Infamous 2, though I just started it. Gonna do the good campaign first and then the evil one.
