If I don't want to sell via paypal, best way to recieve $?

Newbie seller here.

I plan on offering some things to the board, but if I do not want to fund my paypal account with a credit, what's the best/most secure way of paying me? I prefer either some sort of secured check to deposit, or receive my funds via my credit card.

Thanks!

I don't know of any way to have payments made to a credit card. It sounds to me as though you'll need either certified checks or money orders. I prefer USPS money orders as they can be purchased or cashed at any US post office. I'm not sure how either of these would help you with non-US buyers.

Thanks, I'll just have to make it CONUS only.

may want to look into paypal again. You as a seller are insured when using it and it's really the best bet when dealing over the internet.

Would Google Checkout be of any assistance to you?

Bidpay.com, Western Union, USPS or other money orders, or personal checks are among the options.

I would avoid bidpay as many scammers like to fake bidpay URL's it might turn potential buyers off.

Google Checkout is probably the best way to go. Very similar to paypal but no fees and free to sign up!

Maybe moneybookers.com is an alternative. I used it once as a buyer and MB charges less then paypal and has better conversion rates (euro vs dollar). Additionally it has some kind of auction facility and you can fund it via credit card or bank account.

I used Google Checkout for the first time last week. They deposited the full amount, no fees! This is ridiculous!

Google checkout is only free until the end of the year. I think they need to continue doing that for longer though, as I keep running into bugs.

Money orders are best. I have even sent cash to trusted sellers. Paypal is dead to me.

Also this forum really needs a trust point or rating system for buying and selling.

money order security is worthless to the buyer, not many people are willing to use it.
