Definitely size up. I'm a small across the board in almost everything, and the medium is a (perfect) slim fit on me.

I have the same problem I have with most Japanese brands - as a 43" chest and generally a US/UK XL there's rarely anywhere to size up to

This'll depend on the piece - some, you'll probably be able to make an XL work. Maybe not the tailored stuff, though.

The oversized coats will work for you. I am a size 3, and am a solid 40" chest. The only place I have issues is through the lats. Apparently Japanese people have no lats?

Thanks guys - sounds pretty much like what I've found with Kapital. Much of the shirting and more tailored pieces are too snug in a 4, but with some of the coveralls and coats a 4 is fine, and with the odd oversized piece I can even get away with a 3 if I don't mind losing the oversized look.

Trying to buy shoes from Japan is the most infuriating thing. I am a size 10.5-11 US, 9.5 UK - so, biggish, but hardly Shaq sized. In Japan, a lot of makers never order about a size 9 US or so...

I'm a UK 11-11.5 - generally a US 12 (but sometimes a 13 because American feet seem to narrower than UK feet) and gave up looking...

I wish Rakuten listings would more frequently have size in the title so finding stuff was easier.

Nice piece for those who have a decent drop though - subtle enough, but different enough...

I have a 76" reach at 5'11". That is pretty decent for fighting, but not all that great for buying a lot of Japanese brands.

Incidentally, that is a misleading measurement. I have, for example, fairly long fingers (size 8.5 to 9 gloves), so some one with slightly shorter fingers could have just as long a knuckle to knuckle meaurement than do I.

As an EU 50 and US 40 in most fashion stuff, I take most outwear in a 4 for VISVIM. My VIS 101 had slightly long sleeves for me at a size 4, but fit well otherwise.

Was wondering whether BBJ is widespread in Japan; Y! Search yielded like 5-6 pages of result (combined with Pure Blue Japan) unlike other labels that can go up to 100 pages or more.

Perhaps they are a really small production company.

Blue Blue Japan is just one of the many lines designed and managed by Seilin Co. They also do Hollywood Ranch Market, Okura, San Francisco, and a few more that escape me. Because the same people are behind every line, each is very focused on what they do. Blue Blue Japan on indigo, HRM on 'western', Okura on traditional Japanese clothing, etc. All together I'd reckon they have large popularity, but each line by itself isn't very big.

As a side note, Seilin seems to own half of Daikanyama with all the stores they have there... (At least one for each line)
