for 150 made on mistake by stp the sutors are a very AWESOME deal.

let me just say in answer to your question on your thread, that sutor is like santoni.
to make a long story short, they both are very confusing in their various lines and varying quality even within same lines, and for different markets for both here in US and in europe.
i think they make differing quality for the same 'model' for different resellers and vendors.
for instance, that same sutor split toe i have seen at neiman marcus and at Gary's in newport beach, and they are well made for their $950 sticker price.

the same $995 retail model from STP for some reason does not come with the same quality in person. i dont know why this is , but i have stopped purchasing STP sutors .

I got 2 Sutors from STP this year, and both are on par with the EG I have.
Even the sutor lower line pair I got from Lance are awsome, top qulity shoes.

+1. I recently bought 4 pairs of SM from STP and except for the monkstrap, the other pairs were disappointing in terms of both quality and styling. They were clearly norwegian stitched and at least good quality, but for some reason they seemed cheap in some way. It was hard to pinpoint, but they were not on par with my expectations. I returned all 4 pairs. That said, if you see them on deep discount (in the $200-$300 range), these are a steal. They don't even come close to Vass, IMHO.

I've bought two pair of sutor shoes, both are the handmade line(retail for 995).I find the leather that sutor uses is very thin compared to my other English shoes.Thogh it is very soft and comfortable,I'm still cofused if they are more fragile than other thicker-leather shoes.I know sutor shoes are considered to be well made. But the overall feelings I got is they are not as strong as my C&J handgrade.Maybe I am wrong, but that is waht I feel.

I got the antiqued split toes from STP for $289 shipped after free shipping, fat wallet 3% back, 20% off coupon and the extra 20% off they had a week and a half ago. They are thin but at that price I can deal with it.
