I'm relatively new to StyleForum and have learned a great deal about nice clothing, but for the life of me, I can't imagine a wallet that looks like that being worth $200. I'm 43 and more conservative than most. Could someone explain the appeal/value? Does it arrive filled with money?

BTW - I feel the same way about the used jeans selling for $100-200.

I think some of it has to do with exclusivity. Anybody can buy an Abercrombie & Fitch or American Eagle or Calvin Klein leather wallet for $20, but SDA wallets are so rare... (and contrary to my above post, I didn't actually buy one -- I was just passive-aggressively pointing out that they can be purchased new from BIG for $185 ).

And it appears that the quality of the SDA wallets is pretty high... it's "hand-stitched" and has a pewter emblem button snap cover... nice thick leather... but is it worth the $250 premium? That question has to be answered on an individual basis... some may rationalize such a purchase by thinking to themselves, "well if I keep it for 8 years, that's only $25/year"...

Thanks, I just saw that BiG has restocked them. I'll lower the price to 185 shipped. Save yourself on shipping and tax and wait because I ship priority mail.
