Not all Hermés has a title, some of the earlier ones doesn't. And not all are signed. But as a rule, yes, most do ha a title, and yes, That one above is super fake.

Woops, I missed a word... Should be "Authentic Hermes scarves almost always have a Title". I try to refrain from saying absolutes.

Yes, from my research... some of the vintage scarves lack some of the markings that modern scarves have. I've thrifted 6 so far, and I think only 1 is lacking a Sig / Copyright mark.

I should really post my Hermes Collection. I acquired one recently that will blow you guys away.

Fake. Sorry.

You can tell by:

 - The overall printing. It looks somewhat cartoonish and 2-dimensional. Authentic scarves are very lifelike and 3-dimensional, with overlapping designs.

 - Print Quality. You can see blobs of color outside of outlines, and some areas with no outlines at all. Authentic scarves are very finely printed, and you will very seldom see colors printed outside of outlines.

 - The Rolled Edges. Those look somewhat crude from the amount of excess thread and non-uniform appearance, and they are pretty flat / lifeless. Authentic scarves would have very fine, plush hand-rolled edges, and they would be rolled towards the Face / Vibrant side, not away from it.

 - Tags. Almost all Hermes scarves I have / have seen have a rectangular white label with black printing. Also, it would never say "Made in Paris". It should say something like Made in France or Fabrique en France.

 - Overall Design. I don't think Hermes would ever make a scarf / carre with giant "HERMES" printed all over it.

 - Artists Signature and Title. Authentic Hermes scarves almost always have a Title, and usually have an artists signature. Some of the later / more recent Scarves have the "C" copywright mark as well.

I'm not trying to denigrate your find, only trying to educate you / others on the characteristics of Authentic Hermes Scarves / Carres. :teach:

No, no. I was rather certain fake anyway so no trouble there. This is a good guide though, thank you letric and doomsticks as well. It'll make a nice 99 cent shop towel lol.

HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!! Wait, how did you get the hangers?! Did you just ask for it and they gave?

I haven't been finding a whole lot of awesome stuff lately either... Just the stuff that pays the bills.

Expect the Filson Double Mackinaw Cruiser in your size... That was just pure win. My first thought was, quite literally, "What the hell is this doing in San Jose?"

We're still hoping for a move late in the summer, depending on the wife's job hunt.

LOL...

The driving is for other things (races, vacations, etc). Thrifting is the sideshow.

I really can't wait until after this last Race Across America, when I can start using all of the frequent flyer miles we accrue on our United credit card so I can travel more quickly to the places I really want to thrift...

I tell you, being able to write off business expenses like mileage, travel expenses, part of the rent/utilities, really makes my dollars go further... The fact that i'm willing to sleep in the back of the van makes things a lot more economical.

No one from the Minneapolis, MN gang has chimed in yet?

No great items from me. Moving in two months and it is list everything and get it the heck out of my apartment.

So, is this Cotton Brioni real or fake? If anyone has any thoughts I'd truly appreciate it.

A V?

It looks similar to this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Recent-Brio...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The tag on mine says "V". Five? The Brioni tag is a little smaller than on the silk shirts I found. The buttons appear to be about the same as the silk shirts I found. The content tag is in the same place...

It has some minor pilling and a dry cleaning tag on the inside.

Thanks!!

As an example, last summer I drove to BC for a triathlon, the spent a week thrifting the PNW and Western Canada before picking my wife up at the Calgary Airport. Then we did a bike tour of the Rockies from Montana to New Mexico before driving back home. The tour used our van, so logistically it was pretty easy. So it was basically 5,000 miles of driving for 2,000 miles of racing/touring. Good times...

Legit / Real. I've seen many like this, and it has all the correct makers tags and fabric content tags. I've seen several with the V before. I believe that equates an L or XL size.

Awesome, thanks! Google to the rescue: Roman Numerals are legit. V = XL

I am having much more fun now that I've stopped buying items that will sell for sub $20.

Yea I know, most have sigs and C, but I've had a few older ones without copyright, I was so afraid it was fake, due to people saying " look for the copyright C", so all these exceptions to the rule is dangerous when it comes to authenticating Hermés. I go by, "does it feel super expensive?" If yes, it's hermés:) and I've found plenty, sadly sold all but one.

I would love to see ur collection!
