Hey bro, sorry I'm not an expert on BAPE. Every single BAPE piece include Baby Milo has their "Made in Japan" or "Made in China" (more recent since that one HK company bought out BAPE), and their address and phone number make tag. Are you sure someone just didn't cut it off?

Here's a page for reference.

Did this acquisition somehow include Visvim or was Visvim acquired by them or a similar Chinese company? Because the most disheartening thing was peeping Visvim at a tradeshow and every piece saying Made In China.

I went to a few Aape stores in Macau and HK. All their stuff were made in China. But I didn't get a chance to take a closer look at their stuff so I don't know how quality they were. I've yet been to a Bape store although I've seen Bape Kids when we were walking around in near Shibuya.

I don't think I.T. Group bought Visvim. I think Visvim always had some of their stuff made in China, Korea although they might not be made in factories. I've seen some dope **** that were hand made in China by artisans. Those are dope. The Chinese has the ability to make quality ****. It all comes down to the QA and setting high standards from the companies who order them. I'm pretty sure Visvim has high quality standards. I think at the end of the day, higher profit margin is what motivates Nakamura to make his wares to China or Korea especially his unique fabric is sourced directly from China or Korea. I'm not a Visvim expert so I can't give specific examples. What Visvim pieces you saw at trade shows? Brodeetz!!!

It was 2 years ago at the beginning of Summer so it was fall stuff, I remember they had a heavy Native American theme that season, but they went heavy on the kicks and had so many shoes out on display and that's where I kept seeing "Made in China." And yea at the end of the day, they can source whatever they need to source from there but stuff is manufactured there for 1 reason, the labor cost so much less that it is cheaper to source all materials, set up a production facility, hire employees, purchase equipment, then make everything there to have it shipped, then it is to just have everything sent to them and their own production facility in Japan. I just hate when high end companies outsource and those savings aren't seen on the price tag. Sure, I get you wanna save a couple bucks and make a little more, but don't charge the same or most of the time, increase the cost of your goods season by season, while doing so.

Ahhh, that make sense. A lot of their shoes are made in China. I agree if their wares are made in China, their price should reflect that. I'll pay more for wares that were made in Japan.

If you know well and thrift womens clothing, and I'm not talking active wear like lululemon but like nice expensive ornate jackets, stuff like Chanel or Celine or St. Johns or whatever, and your name isn't Spoopoker, can you PM me please? I have a quick question. Much appreciated.

NobleProfessor - how did it go at your live auction?

It was an adventure. There is an auctioneer here that has auctions very frequently and he can have an auction full of junk or full of absolute treasurers. Just down the street from his venue (in the old historic stockyards district) is another auction house. I read the listing wrong and thought we were going to the first auction. Instead we went to the second auction. It is run by an old lady named Wilma. When we walked in, the smell of mildew and old lady was nearly overwhelming. The stuff was available for preview and it looked like a bunch of junk. We decided to stay just for the fun of it! The auctioneer was joined by several assistants and 3 other ancient crones.

As the wood bleacher seats began to fill in, the smell of old lady was slowly but methodically replaced by the stench of unrealized dreams and low expectations. The group was made up of primarily folks that must have been regulars. They all seemed to know each other. I don't mean that they all knew each other in a "we all hang out at the country club" as you might see at a different auction. This groups familiarity was more analogous to the folks you see on the show Myrtle Manor. About half of the evenings patrons also seemed to share a common chromosonal deficiency. Again, we stayed because it looked like it could be an adventure.

The auctioneer advised us all that this was the second of four auctions from the estate of a hoarder. The auction house had secured her four storage units. The first lot was six sets of towels that were loudly and proudly described as "NEW AND NOT WORN OUT!" Lot 1 sold for $2 and you could choose between the sets.

Most of the auction proceeded accordingly with most items selling for $1 or $2. It was actually very entertaining. The people watching was the most fun. We did discover that if there was something we were interested in, it's best not to hesitate! I was a little too slow to get a few things I was interested in.

For the most part it was a lot of junk with a few interesting things spread out.

I think the most expensive lot was a kitchen dinette that sold for $45.

I did purchase several things for resale such as set of mugs identical to this one:

purchased for $3

I also got this for $3

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-pep...961?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aaa24fd09

I missed out on a set like this. I was trying to look it up by the time it sold for $3.

I'll post a few pictures of the other finds later.

It was actually a lot of fun -- the people watching was the most enjoyable.
