Now that we are past that :)

I would appreciate if anyone with more knowledge than I (thats everyone) could elaborate on this piece. Not asking for value, trying to understand the history.

I couldnt find much a piece that had both Loro Piana and Christian Dior

This is going to wear thin after awhile...

Between Monsieur and Le Connaiseur, Connaiseur was the better of the two. It is older though and was mass produced. The Dior to look for is Dior Homme.

First off thanks for the info.

Secondly if you are saying that asking questions will wear thin, this clearly isnt a place for learning.

Usually this type of posting only lasts for a day, thank god. Please let that trend continue.

Finally hooked up my $6 thrifted badass Bose computer system surround sound with subwoofer. I am currently working through my immense backlog while pumping Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz at 120db+ and sipping purple drank. ******* swish!

Sigh.

It is a place to learn, but a constant stream of questions muddies the thread. All of the information you seek could be gained through just reading. There is even a search tab at the top of this page. "Search this Thread". If you type in Dior you would, I'm sure, get plenty of posts depicting the better end of the Dior spectrum and give you an idea what to look for. You are not going to find all the information on every specific piece, but with experience and proper research, you will find or at least come close to what you need to know. I don't know specifics on that Dior with Loro piece, but I know that it is a low-mid range mass produced CD piece that happens to have Loro Cashmere. What else really needs to be known if not value? I'm not sure anyone will be willing to type a company history for each piece presented.

Just to be devils advocate, the AE Stockbridge can be a nice casual shoe. I can't see his well enough to comment on the condition.
The Cole Haan maybe a decent sneaker? I can't really see them

The others look square toe and yes ugly and garbage. This is not meant to insult and just look through my post history to see how many mistakes and questions I ask. Overall I find the community here has been very supportive.

Never posted in this thread before, but I enjoy reading it and doing some thrifting myself when I can. It's a little harder here in the UK - seems like most of the stuff is junk - but if you know where to look you can find some good stuff.

A selection of things I found over the past few months, all sold now:

Chester Barrie Hopsack Blazer (last year's collection apparently!)

Polo Cashmere Wool Herringbone Tweed. Looked never worn

G&H evening shirt

Crazy Ferragamo tie

Scabal 7 fold paisley tie...never seen these before. Didn't even know they did accessories

Couple of Burberry trench coats, the Navy one was tagged as a production sample

Finally, not thrifted, but I saw this insane Tom Ford velvet jacket in TK Maxx the other day, and knew I had to try it on. Sadly it didn't fit and was a little too much, but it was worth it for the brilliantly disgusted face the guy manning the fitting rooms gave me when I walked in holding it.

x2 nice post

But make no mistake, in the US it's 99.9% junk...but if it was all crazy good stuff on the racks then it wouldn't be an addictive game! It's like pursing a hot chick, it's in the chase.

I haven't seen a Scabal 7-fold in a few years. I once found two at the same time in a local thrift.

+1

@MIkesChevelle , Welcome! I'm pretty new here too. This is a bragging thread, not a teaching thread. But then again, it's a terrific resource with knowledgable members. If you had read through it, I'm sure you would very quickly learn that Dior is the brand and Loro supplied the fabric. I've asked my share of questions and have always received prompt and friendly replies (see the doeskin above), but I've also always included a brag that I feel would be appreciated here. I appreciate the cashmere overcoat and might have given you respect for a newb's nice find, but all of the beginner's questions try even my patience. Post your finds as you wish and I will never critique, but do take the time to read and research on your own. Happy thrifting!
