That was a fun box to send. 46 minty charvets. I swear many of them were unworn. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

My wife picked this up today. $10 at GW. 1 unused bolt (25 yards) S. Harris damask fabric. Sells for $190 a yard. Almost $5k worth

Is this anything worthwhile in the mohair realm? Cool brilliant purple mohair overcoat.

(and if it is, I don't need to know why)

I would not pass that coat up, but I would probably undervalue it and start it at $49.99 at auction. My friend 'Justmystyles' on eBay would probably go much higher with a BIN AND sell it, but she's *good* at moving that type of thing. Might want to study her current and closed auctions to see how she does it.

That's just gorgeous. The color alone would sell it. Lots of women love to wear purple. My mother wears very little else.

Agnona did men's stuff for a little while as well, though I believe they stopped. I've had at least one overcoat in cashmere, and it was awesome. Also found a couple of women's cashmere sweaters that were great.

That's a really useful bit of info for me as I'm waiting on what I'm hoping is an awesome thrift on an EZ by Zegna overcoat.

By the way, that holland and holland raw silk is just epic. Didn't get enough love in the thread.

Laughed, and shaded my eyes at first, but these appear to be pretty good quality!

Thrift story:

At the Northside Goodwill the other day, I was looking at records when a, um, gentleman dressed for hunting (camo everything) cut in front of me to browse. He asked me if I had seen anything good, and I made small talk. He found a Randy Newman record, asked me to look it up, and told me I could have it unless it was worth $30. I started to leave. He said "I bet you're voting for Hillary." It was strange. That's never happened to me before.

Now ... a link:

But if anyone needs about 60 plastic wide hangers, get at me. I have tons and can hook you up for the cost of shipping.

Wait, Palm Beach shut down in '56? I come across them all the damn time. Are they worth picking up?? I remember someone joking about that once, but I thought that was a joke.

Those tweeds are freaking awesome (though I'm not sure I'm a fan of the move to showing pricing; still think it feels like it'll lead to comparing lifestyles and judging -- I can assure you, many of you won't approve of what I'm forced to consider "thrift" prices, but it's either that or spend the same on gas to get to true thrift stores. Anyway, YMMV.)

Oh, sorry for the double post.

Is anyone here in the NY area planning to go to the Proper Kit trunk show in November, and willing to possibly proxy a couple of ties? If so, please PM me. I think I'm tied up that day and it's killing me.
