Also, was recently relegated to the basement by my wife.  I'm paranoid about moths.  Anybody have a cheap solution to cover clothes racks?

So do I! Plus, if she "relegated" me to the basement, you can bet that I would mancave the shit out of the other half.

Vintage American Optical is a BIG thing - but it has to be the gold plated ones, 5/12 12K GF is the magic numbers on the arms. I sold the last two I had for $750 and $500 or so.

Re: clothes rack covers...they make covers for clothes racks.  Depends on where you got yours, but if from a fixture supply place etc, they would have 'em.  Otherwise, I've seen people tie a big sheet or piece of fabric over it.  If you get any sun in those windows, you'll want to either cover the windows or the clothes.

Re: AC:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I still have this (for sale).  Paid $340 with tax, used it for exactly one week in August of this year, when my central AC was out.  No use for it now, taking up room, would let it go relatively cheap.

Past two days and a conundrum. The coat on the end I'm certain is vicuña. It's got the same texture, it's from the 40s-50s, from a trad shop. I put it next to a cashmere coat and it destroys it. Way softer. I put it next to a vicuña coat and it's much closer to that. As soon as I touched it I said "that's not cashmere". My instincts usually aren't wrong. But no way to prove it. :/ that sucks. We need fabric dna testing!

That parka goes well with a sort of '90s vintage Polo look. Has a small community of enthusiasts and collectors, who have been into that ever since it came out (I know guys who used to raid downtown depots for that stuff).

It's not with everything though. Shirt is kind of ugly, so it's not just about the Sportsman/ Polo/ early 90s provenance. It's a very specific look.
