Its a curly lamb. Not quite as young as a swakara, but it looks like its from the 60s. Usually the furs from that period are super dated (think about someone walking down the street wearing that) and are passes. Just like the beige mink bolero type pieces you see. What you want to look for in vintage furs (condition is paramount, firstly) is chinchilla or sable. After that, it mostly all comes down to styling. That said, $24 is super cheap and if you've got the gamble, you may want to give it a shot, you never know. I would at $24, but wouldn't be doing that with every fur I see.
Speaking of fur, Ive got so many to post, ill try and get my upload going today.
Thanks for the tip! I'm lost when it comes to furs.
Every time we go up there, I try and hit the Savers up on the hill. Have had decent luck there. The GW is awful, though.
Serious question: Is there something I can sacrifice to the thrift gods/goddesses? I'm in the middle of one of the worst thrift runs ever. Since Saturday, I've hit somewhere around 15+ stores and the only thing I found was a Vineyard Vines big whale logo l/s shirt. Even the VHS tapes have been bunk lately and they're almost always full of treasures.
(Side note: a couple of months ago, I turned a weird old grill that was built into the wall in my porch (It was busted hard and I didn't feel like fixing it, plus I have 2 other grills) into a bitchin tube TV/VCR VHS-only movie zone. It rules. With VHS $0.20-50/ea, my collection is getting pretty awesome. Plus, my wife who was raised in the woods with no TV can finally see movies that most normal people our age grew up with the way they were meant to be seen, slightly fuzzy.)
(Side note of side note: if anyone ever stumbles upon any 80s VHS horror collections, let me know.)
Yep. Been buying a lot of crap I really shouldn't be lately, just to make me feel like the trip was worth it. Then I get home, realize my stupid decision and return them the next day...
The best from yesterday and today. Our state isn't dead yet....
Then This. I was fortunate to work at home today. Over my lunch I went to pick up my kids and noticed a garage sale. I stopped in even though I had no cash. Luckily the person held this for me while I hastily went to the bank and back...
Does anyone know what the style of this jacket is? I'm not sure what a comparable might be.. I think this one might top the Orange RL Sporting Goods jacket from last week. Woah. Back to listing... So much good stuff out there now.
This definitely restores my hope in our state. Kicking myself though becayse I was probably about 15 minutes away from this sale today but was striking out hard and decided to just head home before my son started to get cranky. Glad you ended up with it, though!
