The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2992

Serious question: Is there something I can sacrifice to the thrift gods/goddesses? I'm in the middle of one of the worst thrift runs ever. Since Saturday, I've hit somewhere around 15+ stores and the only thing I found was a Vineyard Vines big whale logo l/s shirt. Even the VHS tapes have been bunk lately and they're almost always full of treasures.

(Side note: a couple of months ago, I turned a weird old grill that was built into the wall in my porch (It was busted hard and I didn't feel like fixing it, plus I have 2 other grills) into a bitchin tube TV/VCR VHS-only movie zone. It rules. With VHS $0.20-50/ea, my collection is getting pretty awesome. Plus, my wife who was raised in the woods with no TV can finally see movies that most normal people our age grew up with the way they were meant to be seen, slightly fuzzy.)

(Side note of side note: if anyone ever stumbles upon any 80s VHS horror collections, let me know.)

Dude, not to say things are "dry" out here but, this past Saturday I went out mid morning and found amazing things. Typically around here the very GW I went to is PACKED with people. People lined up before 11a. When I went this past Saturday I was one of 3 people in store until 10:30. Unheard of.

Also hit up a VOA around 11ish, 1 hour after opening and found a good little haul.

I guess my advice (from these two examples) would be to go at weird times.

Not sure how i feel about this....on one hand it's awesome but definitely unnerving at the same time

You live in the duluth area?  I live like 15 minutes from this store but it's a pain in the butt to get to (traffic even on weekends on pleasant hill) so I only hit it about once a week.  42R and fits like a glove but this one's going to the bay.

Duluth is one of my weekly visits, that store has never really borne fruit for me, c'est la vie, again, conrats

I've only seen a couple pieces but have passed on them as they haven't really stood out to me. Is that a bad pass?

For flipping yes, but for my family personally, no. My brother and step father are local arborists for a tree company. They absolutely love their products. Couldn't help but think Duluth clothing when you said Duluth.
