The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2934

@txwoodworker if the price is right, those PRL shirts could be worth the pickup if all decent and same size. PRL shirts sold in lots actually seem to do quite well, surprisingly. And if all same size, relatively little headache to list. Just something I've observed trolling eBay.

I like older Zegna ties :embar:

They were probably $10 ea, I doubt that would have been worth the grab.  I hear you on lots though, I've picked up a few things like that just because I knew I could unload them all at once for a collectively decent return.

Ahh, yeah. That's pretty high. Seems to be a pretty universal thrift store standard that regular ass PRL shirts get marked way up. Fine by me as long as they keep under-pricing the RLPL happy.gif

Anyone recognize this maker?

Ran into a store just before closing...

Trying to figure out what I grabbed...

BB golden fleece navy suit (already gone)

This military coat..

An old adidas jacket.. Is this one I'm looking for?

And a LodenFrey coat from Germany...

Seems like a good return on an hour investment...

Agree with you there. Price the Burberry at $25, the BB at $13 all you want. Just keep the Eton, Isaia, and Brioni under $10... I smile every time I see that.

Congratz on gettin the perfect fit for your jacket...however no mean to shit on your parade, but that Canali tie is lookin a little suspect, I don't think that exact piece is of the authentic variety....

Hit some new stores today. A few of the things I found:

Some AE Kenilworths. They hadn't seen much wear, but they had never seen polish, or even a damp cloth, from the looks of things. I put a little elbow grease in. I didn't think to take a "before" picture, but here's a picture taken midway through the process:

When finished, they ended up looking quite shiny:

While we're talking about Allen Edmonds, I picked up a pair of Park Avenues a little while ago. I didn't think to check to make sure they were actually the same size, but guess what- they're not the same size. I check every pair of shoes for this now. Spoo had mentioned a while back that the single shoe market is a thing, and everyone needs Park Avenues, right? Available for the cost of shipping to anyone who wants them. Right shoe is 11 E, left shoe is 9.5 EEE.

chotii was totally right about this one place I checked out today- pretty bare except for accessories, and a lot of 80s stuff. Only thing of note was this tie:

Yeah, it's just Dior, but I really like the pattern. And unlike most Dior ties I find, it's a reasonable width. I'm looking forward to rocking this one.

Some stuff. Haven't really had much time. Everything available.

Cantarelli silk, linen, wool suit. Dual vents and shit. Tagged EU52L

JAB patchwork madras. 38S. Vent still basted shut.

Corneliani super 120's suit. Tagged EU54L.

Arny's sea shell tie.

100% linen Billy Reid plaid shirt. May keep for self.

Awesome Cucinelli shirt. XL. 100% cotton. Burgundy gingham with small blue dots throughout.

Anyone want this for cost + shipping? Tagged XL but runs short. Has a small bleach spot on the front but would make a good beater.

The grey and yellow one...  what specifically about that one, makes you think that one is fake, as I'm trying to figure that out, for Canali.  I figured the repeating Canali on the inside backing was probably pointing to that, but is there anything else?  I've seen a few of them, and some I have picked up, but some I've left, as I'm not sure on the Canali ones.

Some of the Pal Zileri ones as well, I'm sometimes on the fence about.

All the ones I have just say Canali once on the bottom. And they have a thick piece of thread connecting it. Also the newer ones have like a pattern on the tag. First time I saw one I thought it was stained lol. I'm not an expert tho and there could be more designs out there I guess. What does the care tag show? Fakes almost never replicate it well
