The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2863

I think I might've spotted members out in the field a few times but i don't think I have ever been suspected. People just think I am trying to find stuff for my dad.

Here's my brag of the day: Versace poly jacket with removable inner fleece. Shout out to Spoo for authenticating!

I'll be the short lady who's talking to the clothes and saying stuff like, "Tell me about yourself."

This is the best answer so far. You can even use it in liquor stores and not sound out of place. :)

I believe the sleeves looked like this 2nd picture, as I remember a folded over triangle corner in the fabric, when I was trying to check.  It didn't look like the first pic, that's for sure.  I'll see if I can post some pics tonight, of the inner sleeves.  You guys can probably spot it easy.  It would be nice if they could be lengthened as I like that one.

Pics of inside sleeve hem...

Inside jacket. I don't think it had closed dual vents. Maybe closed centre one? Sorry, I can't tell.

And shot of jacket again with longer shirt sleeves where it shows how jacket sleeves are short as is.

Is anyone up for an authenticity check? I'm not digging the tags, I couldn't find anything similar on the bay. I was excited at first but....

I feel very comfortable calling that a vintage RL. I've no idea what they called it at the time...Hooded Red Nautical Military Jacket?

did you look up that RN#? cause when i asked the mo-cheen it responded with "no results"

i've found OG ralph with very compelling tags that turned out to be quite fake. turns out the older fakes had amazing labelcraft.

also i cannot recall ever seeing branding that just said "LAUREN" like on your sleeve. it doesn't look great but i will happily defer to somebody who knows better than i. good luck!

Yeah, the RN number is MIA, that CA number turns up some obscure RL company.... That "Lauren" tag made me think of the green Lauren Ralph Lauren tag. I've wondered why if people will fake goods why don't they fake the RN number as well? Thanks!

^^ Maybe places like China have copyright laws where it is okay to take someone's intellectual property, but no okay to take their ID number. So if traced back to them, they are done for. Just a guess

haha this is pretty good.

I've only met @impuntura  and the first time I was too nervous to say hi lol. I'm glad I did because he was super cool. He hooked me up with a Burberry polo the first time I ever said hello and we've been able to help each other once or twice since then.

@SpooPoker mentioned this is the place to go for questions about these and their value. First (HUGE one) is early Edo period, second is mid to late Edo boro fabric throws. Any help would be appreciated on these. Flip flops at the bottom of the picture to show size of throw.

Cheers folks!
